Busy Philipps Welcomes Pride Month With Post Honoring Her 12-Year-Old Child, Birdie

June is Pride month here in the USA, and what better time than now to share and hear stories from the LGBTQ+ members of our community.

Actress and activist Busy Philipps has been open with fans about her child Birdie's decision to change their pronouns to they/them and now, Busy is honoring Birdie with a heartfelt tribute in honor of Pride month.

Fans found out recently that Busy Philipps' 12-year-old child Birdie is gay.

"Birdie is gay and uses they/them pronouns," the actress revealed a few months ago on her podcast.

"For those of you who are my friends listening at home, this is the first you're hearing that Birdie is gay and out."

"Birdie told us at 10 years old and ... I mean obviously, I knew that Birdie knew," she added.

Now, Busy is honoring her child with an emotional post to mark the beginning of Pride month.

"Today is the start of PRIDE MONTH! I have so much pride for this kid and everything they are and do!" Busy wrote.

"The t-shirt I’m wearing is by @thehaasbrothers x @citizensofhumanity in honor of Pride 2021 and 100% of the retail selling price of every t-shirt sold will be donated to LA’s LGBTQIA+ center!"

"The @lalgbtcenter has been incredibly helpful to my family in the last several years, offering support and education and a sense of community," she continued.

"One incredible thing Birdie did last year (that I would like to brag about right now) is that after seeing all of the beauty products that I was sent by brands that went unused or given away, Birdie decided to start gathering the unopened makeup and hygiene items from me and other influencer types(actors, singers, makeup and hair artists) to donate to the @lalgbtcenter for the queer and trans youth that the Center provides a safe space for."

"Well. Thanks to many of my friends, Birdie was able to donate HUNDREDS of items to the center."

She concluded: "HAPPY PRIDE MY LOVES!!!"

It's so awesome seeing this kind of parental support and love. Way to go, Busy and Birdie!
