Viral Hack Offers A Sanitary Solution For Blowing Out Birthday Cake Candles

Celebrating a birthday with a cake is always an awesome treat. It's one of those things I look forward to on my special day.

But have you ever thought that blowing candles wasn't all that sanitary? I mean, think about it. Doesn't your saliva go everywhere? Oh my!

So, what if there was a better and safer way to do it without exposing other people to germs? Well, now there is.

I have to admit I've never really given blowing candles off of a birthday cake a second thought.

But now that we are dealing with COVID, avoiding germs is the key. Am I right? So, what about those candles, huh?

How do we still keep up the tradition of blowing candles in a much safer way?

Well, somebody on TikTok already thought of that, ha, ha! Wow, it seems that people think of everything these days before I even realize it.

A TikTok user, @krystal_rochelle_ recently posted a video of a hack to safely blow out the birthday candles on a cake.

She kept the see-through lid on the actual cake. Then, she affixed the candles to it.

The TikTok user dripped a little bit of wax on the box to get the candles to stick to it.

Wow, doesn't that sound simple enough or what? I can't believe I never thought of that. Now, when the birthday girl blew the candles, the cake stayed fully protected.

I don't know about you, but I think that's pretty brilliant.

And as it turns out, plenty of people thought so, too. They started commenting on the video in droves. Now, I don't feel as bad that I didn't think of this myself, ha, ha!

It seems that even before COVID, people hated the idea of blowing candles off of a birthday cake.

Here I thought I was a germaphobe, but this never bothered me. But now that I think about it, it probably should have.

Some suggested other ways to do this.

For example, you can either cut a slice of the cake and then put candles on it. Or you can just do individual cupcakes instead. But if you want a whole cake, then this is the idea for you.

Now, if you do decide to do this, make sure you're very careful.

Never leave the candles burning unattended. You wouldn't want to risk burning your house down, that's for sure. And don't leave small children alone with the candles burning either.

So, what do you think of this idea?

Would you change the way you blow the candles off of your birthday cake? Or would you just stick to the old-fashioned way? I think this is a good idea regardless of COVID.
