Reporter Can't Keep It Together When 'Unwelcome Visitor' Joins Him On Live TV

While most insects are rarely seen as warm and welcomed guests in our homes and workplaces, this especially rings true for CNN reporter Manu Raju, who had a close encounter with a cicada while on-set.

Though he took it well and handled it pretty quickly, the ever-approaching emergence of Brood X might mean more run-ins with these critters for many of us.

Brood X is a species of cicada that emerges from the ground once every 17 years within the Midwest, Southeast, and mid-Atlantic states. They're due for a return this year, and have started popping up where we least expect it.

Especially where CNN reporter Manu Raju least expected it: on his jacket.

While preparing for a live shot, a cicada can be seen crawling up his jacket, though he doesn't notice it at first.

It isn't until the bug reaches his neck and he finally feels it that he notices it's there.

He's quick to grab it and throw it off, letting out a groan that is both surprised and disgusted. That's then followed with a string of rather colorful words which, all things considered, were warranted.

After the initial shock, he grows a little concerned.

"What the hell, do I have more on me?" he asks while turning his back towards someone off-camera, who checks him over and ensures that he's clear of any more bugs. He then checks his hair; best to be thorough, after all.

He clearly took the moment in stride, posting the clip to Twitter and calling the insect an "unwelcome visitor."

He also seemed in high spirits at the end of the video, laughing at the oddity of the situation.

Not to mention his brief misfortune granted him a viral Tweet, with his video sitting at almost 7000 retweets and 50k likes!
