Facebook User Makes Illuminated Garden Mushrooms Using Upcycled Materials

Ah, gardening season is upon us. In fact, now's the time to spruce up your outdoor areas. I, myself, am thinking of adding some unique touches.

That's why I was so excited when I stumbled upon this super cute idea. It will definitely elevate your garden, patio, or backyard. And, the best thing about it is that you can make it yourself!

Do you have any outdoor decorations in your backyard or garden?

If not, are you looking for something fun to add to that area? Well, I think I have found just the thing for you. My guess is, you're going to love it.

A Facebook user recently shared an awesome idea with a crafting group.

User Marty Vedok created super cute DIY mushroom garden lights that seem to be a total hit with everyone. She shared the process of creating these with all the folks in the group.

So I'm going to tell you all about them now.

Vedok only used some simple materials that I'm sure you can find in a dollar store. Let's go over your shopping list right now. Here's what you will need to create one mushroom light.

Okay let's go!

You'll need one glass lampshade from a light fixture, one solar light, one clear flower vase, one Rustoleum 2x primer, and paint-in-one (spray paint) in red.

You'll also need some circle stickers to place on the lampshade before spraying it with red paint.

That's it, folks. Doesn't that sound easy enough or what?

I think so! Now, on to the process. After applying the stickers to the lampshades, she simply spray-painted them. Then, she peeled the stickers off after the paint dried. This method created a void for the light to shine through at night.

Then, Marty took the vase, placed a solar light inside it, and sat the lampshade on top.

She didn't use any glue to make these adorable shrooms. Wow, I'm so impressed. Who knew it could be this easy and fun, huh?

I'm pretty amazed people come up with cool stuff like this on the fly.

I wish I had more creative ideas like these, ha, ha! I'm just so busy lately that I have to rely on other people's creativity to get me through.

It's no surprise that other people loved Marty's mushroom light idea.

Many of them commented on her post how much they liked it. I have to admit I'm totally with them on this. It's the cutest mushroom light idea I've ever seen.

So, what's your take on this idea to upcycle items like this?

I can't wait to check out my nearest dollar store or Walmart to stock up on materials to make these adorable mushroom lights. They will illuminate my garden so beautifully.
