Guy Fieri Is Now Helping Struggling Restaurants After Raising $21 Million For Unemployed Food Workers

King of Flavortown Guy Fieri is back at it again! As you may recall, the Food Network Star has been working overtime during the pandemic — not for himself, but for fellow restaurant employees.

Now, the 53-year-old is on a mission to help save restaurants hit hard by the pandemic by giving out $300,000 worth of grants to those who need it most!

In case you missed it, Guy Fieri just landed a MEGA deal with Food Network.

The three-year contract is reportedly worth a staggering $80 MILLION. Yep, that's right — 80 MILLION DOLLARS!

Now, Guy is giving back to both current and aspiring restaurant owners.

According to CNBC, the 53-year-old will be giving out $300,000 in grants next month to those who have struggling restaurants, as well as those whose plans to open got cutoff by the pandemic.

"I’ve been very blessed," Guy said.

"That’s why I try to turn my time and attention to helping others and raising that money and raising some awareness," he added.

The grants will be made in partnership with the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation and the California Restaurant Association.

"It’s not a telethon,” Guy explained. "It’s a celebration, an inspiration."

"We want to remind everybody: Go eat out more often. Go get more delivery. Buy more gift certificates."

The event, Guy’s Restaurant Reboot, will be held virtually on June 12. Guy explained that the recipients will get $25,000 each. The event will be largely funded by the event’s sponsors, including LendingTree.
