Recently, it has become really popular to make huge portions of dinners for “family style,” not using big plates or dishes, but on counters and tables.
From nacho stations to taco nights, many families are showing their skills on social media, using an entire tabletop or counter to serve up dinner.
One Facebook video has made waves online for doing just that, but with spaghetti and meatballs.
A couple Josh and Lisa shared the video on Facebook, which has now been shared and viewed over 25 million times.
However, people have some mixed opinions.
The couple calls this the “ultimate family style” dinner.
First, Lisa puts the sauce all over the countertop.
Nothing underneath, no paper or tin foil, just sauce on the countertop.
Next, she adds all of the ingredients for dinner.
From meatballs to grated cheese, to spaghetti, she pours everything right on top of the pasta sauce on the counter.
Then, everything gets mixed together.
The finished product gets lettuce and some bread.
After they mix it all up, they sprinkle the corners with some lettuce (salad perhaps) and serve it with some large hero bread for dinner.
Overcome by her shock and curiosity, Lisa’s friend asks her friend where she came up with the idea.
As Lisa continues to fold the ingredients into one another, she replies:
“Well, I’m Italian. And real Italians ; this is how you make spaghetti.”
Who knew that “real Italians” made their national dish in this way?!
With pre-made Prego marinara sauce and pre-grated parmesan cheese no less!
I always thought these things were considered blasphemous to real Italians but clearly, times have changed.
While it is “family style,” many Facebook users have concerns.
Many Facebook users said that it has to be “gross” to put the food directly on the counter, asking about “pet hair” and other particles.
Others said that the video was “stressful” and would “never serve this” to anyone.
While others pointed out that the stained countertops would cost a fortune to clean.
It has to be a joke, right? There’s no way that Josh and Lisa actually prepare meals this way.
But as it turns out, spaghetti isn’t the only countertop meal this couple prepares.

I’m not sure what I find most upsetting about this: the fact that Lisa just dumped an entire jar of queso on the counter or the fact that she’s using raw, cold beans straight from the can.
The trick (according to Lisa) is to use your hands while folding everything in.
This might be the most unappetizing dish I’ve ever seen in my entire life!
If I ever went over to someone’s house and this is what they tried to serve me — I’d walk out and never speak to them again.
Then, for dessert, Josh and Lisa have their own take on a chocolate waffle.
In order to complete this dish, all you’ll need is a waffle iron, a box of Ho Hos, and a bag of mini marshmallows.
Try and arrange the Ho Hos in a circular pattern and then sprinkle the marshmallows on top.
If you’re feeling really bold, you can even go ahead and reach for the chocolate syrup!
Once you have all of your toppings assembled, all that’s left to do is clamp the waffle iron shut, let it cook for about 1-2 minutes, and then enjoy!

I myself am partial to the chocolate waffle, mainly because even the suggestion of dumping queso cheese on my countertop is enough to make me vomit.
