Homeowners Are Giving Their Brick Houses A Makeover With A Coat Of White Paint

Get ready to fight.

One couple on TikTok @ourprojecthouse posted a TikTok documenting their home's exterior makeover. The makeover? Painting their brick house white. The drama in the comments section? Epic, in every sense of the word.

Let's check it out, shall we?

Here's the house before the paint.

Back in September, this red brick house in Plano, Texas was a diamond in the rough. The account @ourprojecthouse was launched on TikTok to document the makeover and renovation process!

They began painting the house in March of 2021.

After months of work repairing the foundation, the gutters, the windows, and the roof, it was finally time to paint the house. They ran some tests, then just went for it.

The house wound up looking gorgeous.

I don't know about you, but I think the house looks amazing. It looks bigger, it looks fresh and modern, and it looks like somewhere I'd want to live!

The makeover went viral on TikTok.

With over 1.6 million views, @ourprojecthome's TikTok was a huge source of engagement for the account.

People immediately started fighting in the comments about the paint, because of course, they did.

There were some extreme opinions in the comments.

"That looks like a murder house," is by far one of my favorite comments. Not only is it inaccurate, but it is also HILARIOUSLY dramatic. I'm obsessed with it.

The haters did NOT hold back.

People think that painted brick is too common, too trendy, and too boring. They hate the look of white painted brick in particular, claiming it looks like a flipper did it.

The pro-paint people didn't hold back, either.

I mean...did Jai lie? Did she say anything incorrect? Because I'm thinking she's 100% right, but that is also a very controversial opinion to have.

Sorry to everyone with live, laugh, love wall stickers.

Supporters flooded in.

Generic and cheap brick being painted over is no loss, in my opinion. It's your house, do with it what you want! Someone else can change it when it's their house.

This is a hot home issue, that's for sure. Personally, I'm cool with people doing whatever they want to their own homes, especially if the brick is kind of ugly.

However, I know y'all will have some BIG opinions on this. Throw them at me!
