Mom Praised For Admitting She 'Hates' Playing Barbies With Her Daughter

As parents, we are oftentimes forced into playing games and activities that we don't totally love. Many of us do it just to keep our kids happy and smiling. Overall, it can be pretty draining when we hate it, though.

Not many parents open up about how much they hate it.

When it comes to playing make-believe or made-up games, not all parents want to jump right in. Some of us dread it. But, we don't always say it out loud.

Recently, one mom took to TikTok to speak out about her distate for her daughter's Barbies.

Indiana mom Lynn Marie spoke out on TikTok, sharing a story of her daughter wanting her to play with her.

The mom said she just doesn't want to play Barbies.

The mom said she will take her daughter for walks or to go do something, but she doesn't want to play Barbies with her and make pretend.

However, she did it anyway to make her daughter happy.

Instead of saying no, she did it anyway and did it "half-heartedly" for 10 minutes.

Then, her daughter asked again.

Her daughter asked her mom if she would play with her again in the morning before she went to school.

Her daughter then said something that "broke" her mom's heart.

Her daughter said she had so much fun playing Barbies with her mom the night before, even though it had only been for 10 minutes.

So, the mom was torn.

She said that maybe if anyone else's kids ask them to do something they hate, try to for five minutes because it could make their day.

Many parents thanked Lynn for sharing this.

Other moms related to it saying "I really needed to hear it myself." And, sometimes, they hate playing with their own kids.

Others said "non-parents don't understand it."

Another parent said just because they "don't like it" that doesn't mean they don't play with their kids.

Many parents will agree that playing with your kids when you don't feel like it is tiring. That's why they praised this mom's video for speaking openly about it.
