Honestly, 'Jeopardy' Shouldn't Replace Alex Trebek Permanently — Keep The Guest Hosts!

Ever since Alex Trebek's tragic passing last year, fans of Jeopardy! have been embroiled in a heated debate over who would be the best choice to replace him. Of course, this is a decision that shouldn't be made lightly, and in the interim in between his passing and picking a replacement the show has had a rotating cast of guest hosts filling in for a handful of episodes at a time.

I'd like to suggest that keeping that guest host rotation should be what the show chooses to do permanently!

Alex Trebek was the host of *Jeopardy* for 37 years!

He was on our screens every day for almost four decades and he did an incredible job hosting the show with authority, humor, warmth, and sometimes even a dashing moustache.

Of course, it would be incredibly difficult to find someone worthy of taking over.

Some fans suggest that *Jeopardy!* champ Ken Jennings would be the best choice to host.

Ken has already taken his turn at the guest-hosting gig, and while some fans really loved to see him on the screen, others felt that he might not have the right image to host the show full-time, and he probably didn't love the added scrutiny either!

Another popular suggestion is *Reading Rainbow* host LeVar Burton!

LeVar himself has expressed interest in the job, but he hasn't yet made it onto the list of guest hosts, which includes Anderson Cooper, Mayim Bialik, Dr. Oz, Aaron Rodgers, Katie Couric, and more.

So how could you possibly choose who replaces Alex permanently while making everyone happy?

The short answer is, you can't.

No matter who got picked, there would be huge groups of fans who felt it was the wrong choice.

That's why I think that Jeopardy! should just continue to have guest-hosts fill in for a couple weeks at a time. This way, everyone who deserves an opportunity behind the podium gets a chance, and nobody has the pressure of filling in for a legend full time. Maybe Alex's pick of Betty White could fill in too!

What do you think?
