An Open Letter From Mommy Needs Vodka To All Of You!

What is the Vod Squad, you ask? It’s you! It’s me! It’s our community of hilarious, opinionated and strong moms.

We’re front line workers, essential workers, workers from home, stay-at-home moms. We have kids in school, homeschooled, and virtually schooled. We have babies, toddlers, in or out of daycare. We have older kids and teens. We have one child, two children, multiple children. We have bills, partners, and responsibilities on top of the new challenges brought on this past year. We have career expectations, personal goals but no personal time, and best friends we desperately need to hug.

We moms do what we must day in and day out without question, without reward, and often without any form of recognition for the absolute sexy POWERHOUSES that we are.

You deserve a place to go where you can feel seen, where you can vent, and where you can lighten the load by laughing along with straight-talking moms from all walks of life who share common ground in this beautifully complex, difficult yet wonderful thing called Motherhood.

So I’m deciding right now that we’re all getting a fresh start. I need it, you need it, so let’s make a #VodSquad promise to each other—

If you’re a part of the Vod Squad, you understand that we’re all different, we’re good moms who aren’t perfect, we’re smart and witty women, we’re still our crazy and fun old selves, and we love harder than anyone else.

Mommy Needs Vodka is a place where women have the chance to rally together, to prop each other up, and to giggle together through the everyday frustrations that make us need that vodka.

We can have differences of opinion without tearing each other down cough like in my comment sections on innocent articles cough.

In other words, let’s bitch and complain together as a team, as opposed to at each other. I hate to say it, but if you can’t play nice, you can’t be in the squad. If you come here simply to criticize, troll and be mean to your fellow Vod Squad members, it’s “So Long!” to you. Luckily, the vast majority of us are here for the right reasons.

Your comments literally make me laugh out loud, often touch my heart and make me cry, and you all remind ME that “I’m not the only one” and that you have my back just as much as I have yours.

As always, I will continue to bring the laughter and fun to the community, with a promise to support you, to promote inclusivity and belonging, and to always stand up for what is right (even if it means some people unfollow!).
