Hilary Duff Admits She's 'Scared' To Have Another Girl

It's hard to believe our eternal sunshine Hilary Duff is pregnant for the third time. I know she's fully a grown, married woman with an IMDb page as long as her glorious blonde hair, but in my heart, she will always be Lizzie McGuire.

Now, Hilary is opening up about her third pregnancy in a new, candid interview.

It's no secret Hilary Duff is thriving right now.

Following her split from husband Mike Comrie in 2016, Hilary focused on being a single mom her firstborn, 9-year-old son Luca, before marrying producer Matthew Koma in 2019.

Hilary and Matthew welcomed baby girl Banks in 2018 together, and now, Hilary is expecting her second child with Matthew.

Posting a sweet boomerang of Mathew rubbing her stomach back in October, Hilary wrote: "We are growing!!! Mostly me ..."

Managing pregnancy and parenting amidst a pandemic has been a learning curve for Hilary.

"It’s been a tricky time with finding the balance between school screen time and recreational screen time," Hilary revealed to People.

"It was definitely more of a free-for-all in the beginning, but now we use it as a tool."

When it comes to managing son Luca's screentime, Hilary said "he still earns time on his iPad."

"If I need to cook dinner or work, I let him connect with a friend on Roblox. We play word, number, or spelling games to try to make it educational sometimes ... [but] I’m a big believer that kids need to decompress and have some downtime too."

Now, Hilary is opening up her third pregnancy on the "Informed Pregnancy" podcast.

Despite dying her hair blue, Hilary insists she doesn't know the gender of her baby.

"I know the blue hair seems like we do know, but we really don’t," she told podcast host, Dr. Elliot Berlin.

She continued: "I’m actually a little scared to have another girl because Banks was a tough cookie as a baby, but she’s so great now, so I could see it."

"But then, I don’t know, in my mind I’m like, 'Maybe she’s my only little princess and she’s going to have her rough-and-tumble brothers.'"

"Honestly, I’m just saying boy," Hilary revealed.

"I really don’t have a strong feeling about it either way, which made me feel guilty for the longest time. I was like, 'I should know, it’s inside my body. It’s my baby, I should know.'"

Of course, everyone in Hilary's life has their own ideas:

"Everyone that’s close to me thinks boy, and then everyone that’s more of a stranger that’s like, ‘What are you having?’ they’re like, ‘We call girl.’"

Hilary previously told *People* why she chose to not have a gender reveal like she did with Banks.

"Unfortunately, during these times we felt it wasn’t really appropriate.”

She went on to explain that her son Luca was hoping for a boy so that he could "share all his old toys."

On the podcast, the actress told Dr. Berlin that she and hubby Mathew aimed to have a baby born by the time that the pandemic was done.

She joked: "We actually planned to have another baby during quarantine — everything sounds like a good idea in quarantine!"

Weirdly enough, that's also what I tell myself when I place my Thai food order for the third time every week.

I love Hilary's honesty, and I can't wait to meet baby number 3!
