81-Year-Old Tina Turner Says Farewell To Fans In Emotional New Doc: 'It Wasn't A Good Life'

It's hard to imagine what music would look like today without the music sensation that is Tina Turner. The 81-year-old is responsible for some of the most important songs from the '80s. Known as the queen of Rock n' Roll, Tina has always been a force to be reckoned with.

Now, the songstress is preparing to say goodbye to fans in an emotional new documentary.

Tina Turner is truly a woman that needs no introduction.

Her music has been the background of so many important moments for millions of fans everywhere.

"The Best", "What's Love Got To Do With It" and "River Deep – Mountain High" are just a few examples of songs the world is better for just because Tina sang them!

Now, Tina is saying farewell to her fans in her own words.

The documentary, airing on HBO Max March 27, will give followers a closer look at the superstar's life while documenting her struggles with PTSD following her abusive relationship with Ike Turner, a stroke, and cancer diagnosis.

Tina also underwent a kidney transplant in 2017 after suffering from kidney failure.

In the documentary, Tina reflects: "It wasn’t a good life. The good did not balance the bad."

She continued, as reported by *The Mirror*:

"I had an abusive life, there’s no other way to tell the story. It’s a reality. It’s a truth. That’s what you’ve got, so you have to accept it."

She added:

"Some people say the life that I lived and the performances that I gave, the appreciation, is blasting with the people. And yeah, I should be proud of that. I am."

“But when do you stop being proud? I mean, when do you, how do you bow out slowly? Just go away?”

In the upcoming doc, Tina is seen talking for the first time with the man who finally brought her happiness, her second husband, Erwin Bach.

"He had the prettiest face," Tina recalled of hubby Erwin. "It was like, ‘Where did he come from?’ He was so good-looking."

"My heart went ba-bum. It means that a soul has met. When he found out that I liked him, he came to America and we were in Nashville and I said to him, ‘When you come to LA, I want you to make love to me.’"

“I thought that I could say that because I was a free woman, I didn’t have a boyfriend, I liked him.

"There was nothing wrong with it — it was just sex. And he looked at me as if he didn’t believe what he was hearing."

She continued:

"He was just so different, so laid back, so comfortable, so unpretentious, and that was the beginning of our relationship."

These days, Tina spends most of her time with her husband in Switzerland, where she lives permanently.

Posting a trailer for the movie on her Instagram, Tina wrote:

"The only way to tell my story. I am excited to share the official trailer for #TinaFilm, a never-before-seen look into my life."

Fans are eager to see the emotional farewell from the beloved songstress.

There are no words to describe how much Tina has meant to so many people.

You're simply the best, Ms. Turner!
