It's About Time That 'Jeopardy!' Had A Female Host

There's nothing like curling up on your sofa at the end of the day and watching Jeopardy!, a staple of daily television for the 37 seasons that Alex Trebek was the beloved host of the show.

After Alex's tragic passing last year, many fans began to wonder who would take over the hosting gig, and I have to say: this time around, it should be hosted by a woman!

Alex Trebek made a fantastic host for 37 seasons.

Alex was kind, smart, funny, and charming, which made him the perfect choice to helm this iconic program.

Filling his shoes would be a difficult task for anyone, but the job should really go to someone who can bring something new to the show instead of just a replacement for Alex. Someone like a woman!

The show recently was guest-hosted by Katie Couric, who was the first woman to ever host the show.

Many fans loved her taking over for a few weeks while the show decides who should fill the role, and it just goes to show that the world is ready for a female host!

Actress Mayim Bialik is also on the docket for guest-hosting, and as a neuroscientist and a very familiar face for most of us, she'd be another amazing choice!

Even Alex Trebek was on board with his job eventually being filled by a woman!

Alex himself once said of his eventual replacement, "It’s probably going to be a woman, somebody younger, somebody bright, somebody personable, somebody with a great sense of humor."

Of course, he had his own suggestion for who it should be that fit that criteria.

"So I nominated Betty White," Alex said.

I think it would be hard for anyone to argue with that one!

What do you think? Is it time for Jeopardy! to have a female host, or are you more interested in somebody else taking over the job? Let us know in the comments!
