There’s no denying Mandy Moore has been such a huge part of our lives through her iconic TV and movie roles, so when the actress announced her pregnancy back in October, fans were so excited for her to move into a new and exciting phase of her life.
On Tuesday, the 36-year-old announced that she and hubby Taylor Goldsmith had welcomed their baby boy into the world, and fans couldn’t have been happier.

Posting on her Instagram on Tuesday, Mandy shared a sweet photo of her son:
“Gus is here,” she captioned the pic.
“Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined.”
Friends and fans were quick to send messages of love to the actress and her husband.
“Congratulations to Gus’ mom and dad!!!!!” wrote Hilary Duff. “Welcome to the world dude!”
“CONGRATS MAMA,” echoed model Tess Holiday.
Now, Mandy is revealing the meaning behind her son’s unique name.
While sharing a picture of a grey blanket with the name “August” spelled out on it, Mandy wrote, “It was last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we were having a boy (it’s also Taylor’s birth month) and we always loved the name… so it was settled very early on in our book.”
She then went on to explain the significance of the pink “A” and the white “T” and please be warned, you may cry:
“Then for our anniversary in November, T gifted me with this blanket with the “A” (for Amanda) made from extra material from my wedding dress and “T” (for Taylor) from his wedding shirt.”
“It felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story. I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day.”
