Queen Elizabeth Set To Make TV Appearance Hours Before Meghan And Harry's Tell-All Interview

As fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle know, the couple recently announced they will be sitting down to do a tell-all interview with TV legend Oprah Winfrey. This news is huge as it marks the first time a royal couple is sitting down with a major television host in a candid interview.

However, it seems the queen will be addressing the nation just hours before the interview — news that has upset a lot of people.

The duke and duchess' interview with Oprah will air on March 7.

The announcement from CBS describes the event as a "wide-ranging" interview. The first part will be a one-on-one with Oprah and Meghan, "covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure."

The CBS statement continued:

"Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family."

As reports swirl that the royal family is nervous about the tell-all interview, Buckingham Palace recently announced some coincidental news.

The queen plans on addressing the Commonwealth just hours before the highly anticipated interview on March 7.

The address comes as a celebration of Commonwealth Day (the following day, on March 8) which usually features a large, in-person celebration.

Notably, Harry and Meghan's last public appearance as working members of the royal family was at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey in 2020, held on March 9.

The BBC will broadcast a television special featuring members of the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, are all set to make appearances.

The Commonwealth Day TV special has been in the works since January, *People* reports.

The publication went on to say the time slot was decided around three weeks ago.

Needless to say, this is quite a coincidence.

News that the queen will be addressing the public hours before Meghan and Harry's interview didn't sit right with a lot of people.

While the royal family double-feature happened purely out of unintentional planning, it does make room for some fan speculation.

Some people even questioned if Meghan and Harry scheduled the interview near Commonwealth Day on purpose.

"Truth be told, H&M probably scheduled to conflict with the Commonwealth Day broadcast," speculated one critic.

"Let them be happy and live their lives," tweeted one supporter.

"He doesn’t need to be his [brother's] shadow and they were horrible to Meghan. I mean at first I wanted them there. But not after everything I heard. Seriously just let people live their lives they will be much happier," they concluded.

"Glad he got out, wish his mom had too!" tweeted one fan.

"Think about that. For me all of them are piece of trash. I am done. H and M are my ride or die," tweeted another.

Needless to say, March 7 will be a highly anticipated day of television.
