Aaron Carter and his girlfriend of one year have broken up, and things are turning messy, to say the least.

Aaron Carter Gets Restraining Order Against His Ex: 'She Has Threatened To Stab Me'
When words like "restraining order" are thrown around in the heat of a break up, you know it's bad.

And for Aaron Carter and his now ex-girlfriend, Lina Valentina, that is, in fact, the case.
Aaron made his relationship with Lina Instagram official last September.

"No one has understood me and shown the love this woman has for me EVER," he captioned the photo.
"You have my heart for the rest of my life," he continued.

"Our relationship is new but we WILL grow old together and have our family".
"And I will cherish honor respect and be the man I've always wanted to be".

"Because you've shown me you're the woman I've always dreamed of."
So cute, right?
Wrong.
No one realized it yet, but things were about to take an ugly turn.
"You are my light, you are my dream and I will never give up on us no matter what and you are my queen.”

In the months to follow, Aaron even hinted that he and Lina might be "expecting".
“I’m in such an amazing place mentally, physically & emotionally," he wrote.

"I finally bought my first home and I’m going to be proposing soon to my gf and we might just be expecting…”
“I have a lovely woman by myside and we’re very excited about our future and our family we are starting,” he added, along with a boy and girl baby emoji.

But it wasn't all rainbows and butterflies for long...
Fast forward to earlier this month, Aaron released a statement letting everybody know that he and Lina had decided to call it quits.

“Lina and I have decided to go our separate ways,” he said.
“I was really hoping this would be the one that lasted forever," he went on. "We had even talked about having kids".

"But we couldn’t seem to get past our differences and the relationship eventually turned unhealthy.”
“I’ve been through so much the past few years and am trying to learn from my mistakes."

"I don’t have any regrets being with Lina, and I definitely learned a lot about myself".
"I think this decision was the mature thing to do. I’m going to keep focusing on my music, my tour and my fans. Hopefully my soulmate is out there somewhere and I’ll meet her soon.”

Unfortunately, the diplomacy between them didn't last long.
Aaron has filed a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, alleging that she assaulted him and threatened him with a weapon.

According to the court documents, Aaron claimed that Lina "Physically assaulted me. Hit me in the face and shoved me".
"She has threatened to stab me several times and she carries a knife with her." he added.

Aaron claims that Lina left him with a bruise on his face following the initial incident.
Aaron also alleges that Lina was abusive toward him "several times" over the course of their relationship.

Lina has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from Aaron going forward.
She was also ordered to move out of Aaron's home in Lancaster, California.

However, it turns out she wasn't actually living there — so that part of the restraining order was denied.
