Four Loko's New 14% Hard Seltzer Is Getting Brutalized On Social Media

Hard seltzers have taken 2019 by storm, led by White Claws, Trulys, and Smirnoff, among many, many others. Now, Four Loko wants in on the trend, too, and they're doing it in true Four Loko style, announcing a blue raspberry flavored seltzer that packs a whopping 14% ABV. Compare that with the mere 5% White Claws touts, and you're getting almost triple the amount of alcohol from Four Loko. Heck, even Pabst Blue Ribbon's hard seltzer clocks in at a mere 8%.

The reaction online hasn't been quite as enthusiastic as it has been brutal.

Sure, there are a few folks sending out things like "Broceries 2.0" on Instagram, but there are just as many, if not more, who are dreading the potent new beverage's release.

You know what that means: solid, hilarious memes.

Folks out there have some experience, although maybe not too many memories, with Four Loko's old, intensely concentrated and caffeinated drinks — you know, the ones banned in several states — and they're drawing on that for comedy.

"Four Loko has come back to finish the job it tried to do in college…Kill us…This is 14% alcohol…Brace yourselves," wrote one person on Instagram.

The totally reasonable fear of getting in too deep, too quickly hasn't deterred some Four Loko fans, of course.

They just want to try it to see for themselves just how dangerous a 14% hard seltzer can be. It's not like curiosity has ever gotten anyone into trouble, right?

Of course, it's all just pure speculation at this point.

No planned release date has been announced just yet, so there's still plenty of time to prepare your liver if you do plan on challenging it with Four Loko's fizzy insanity.
