The Fast and The Furious franchise is one of the most popular franchises ever.
It continues to release movies and goes bigger and hits harder with each one. And apparently, the next step is to take it to space.

And quite frankly, I love it.
It's good entertainment. So it makes sense that they would want to go to space next.
Chris Morgan, who wrote five F&F films said this to EW:

“I would never shoot down space. Never, never. I would literally never shoot down anything, as long as it hits the parameters."
He continued with:

"‘Is it badass? is it awesome? Will the audience love it? And will it not break faith with the audience as they’re watching it?’ I’m down for whatever.” he finished.

Honestly, these movies are already so unrealistic that it wouldn't surprise me.
