Cardi B was scheduled to perform in Indianapolis on Tuesday night, but has recently spoken out after having to call off the show and postpone it to a later date.
Fans who had already showed up to the arena were confused as to why they were being told to go home, and some fans online began speculating about the reason.
However, the show was sold out, and the image in the above tweet was not from the Cardi B show, nor was it taken at the arena in Indianapolis.
The statement read, "This evening, there was a scheduled concert at Bankers Life. We were notified of an unverified threat to the artist and the artist canceled this evening’s concert."
Some fans were still skeptical, and a few claimed Cardi cancelled the show to watch the Democratic Debate or because she "wasn't feeling it."
"Dear Indiana people I'm so sorry for today," Cardi captioned the post. "I just want to let you know I was in the venue today. I rehearsed and started doing glam."
"My safety and your safety first . I want to thank the promoters we have already rescheduled the show," Cardi added. The show has already been announced as rescheduled for September 11th, 2019.
"I’m not taking any chances. I love you guys," Cardi finished. There has been heightened worry and concern over threats to concert venues and artists with two prominent attacks being carried out over the past two years.
23 people were killed in the attack, with another 139 wounded, over half of that number being children. Later that same year, the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas also faced an attack, with a shooter killing 58 people and wounding 422.
Cardi recently endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Presidential nominee race.
So far, no details have been released about the nature of the threats.
