Some cities have annual traditions that everyone knows and loves — celebrating every year at the same time. For Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the annual Picklesburgh festival is something that people have come to know over the last four years.
This time around, a local hospital decided to get creative for the festival.

To celebrate this year’s pickle festival, nurses and staff at UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh decided to get the newborn babies in the labor and delivery unit involved.
The babies were all decked out and ready to party.

One talented nurse who works at the hospital knitted green hats and blankets for “the little gherkins.”
They also had special t-shirts made.

Each baby was sporting a little t-shirt that said “Special Dill-evry.” How sweet!
The staff at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital are known to do creative little things like this.

They told reporters that they love having fun with the newborns around the holidays, too. One year, they had an ugly Christmas sweater party for the babies.
The families totally love it, too.

Hospital spokeswoman Amy Charley told Today:” We have patients hoping they deliver during one of our nursery photo shoots!”
The pickle idea went over swimmingly with parents who had just had a newborn.

“The families were thrilled and got a real kick out of seeing their new bundle of joy dressed as cute pickles.”
One mother was even celebrating the pickle festival before it even began.

“One mother is a huge pickle fan and had a pickle bouquet at her baby sprinkle instead of flowers.”
The Picklesburgh festival ran from Friday-Sundnay in Pittsburgh.

The festival included food, music, and even a pickle eating contest and a pickle juice drinking contest.
It’s so sweet to see a hospital staff so dedicated to their jobs.

Parents were thrilled to see their little ones decked out in adorable, hand-made outfits.
We can only imagine what else is in store for this unit.

With such dedicated nurses on staff, it’s no wonder people want to go into labor around the holidays.
