Selma Blair Debuts Shaved Head After Being Discharged From MS Treatment
Selma Blair has always been open about sharing her journey with MS.

If you didn't know, multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease that attacks healthy tissue in the central nervous system.
In an interview with "Good Morning America", she explained what life was like pre-diagnosis.

"I was in pain. I wasn’t always drinking, but there were times when I couldn’t take it."
The most frustrating thing was that doctors weren't taking her health concerns seriously.

They chalked her symptoms up to her being a new mom to son, Arthur.
"‘Single mother, you’re exhausted, financial burden, blah, blah, blah.’”

She told GMA's Robin Roberts that she once even had to pull over for a nap after driving Arthur to school.
When she was officially diagnosed, she cried tears of relief.

"They were tears of knowing I now had to give in to a body that had loss of control, and there was some relief in that."
She even reached out to a fellow celeb, Michael J. Fox, following her diagnosis.

If you didn't know, the actor was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991.
We love that she hasn't lost her sense of spirit despite everything!
She won't let anything — not even MS — get her down.
As for recovery, Selma's doctor has reassured the star that recovery is completely possible.

"He said within a year, I will have 90 percent of my abilities back."
But that's not to say that the road there has been without its difficult moments.

Just a few weeks ago, she shared the heartbreaking news that she was separated from her son due to health reasons.
"I am here. I am not with my son. I am in the place of getting better," she began her caption.

"I need this boy to see me do things I never thought I could. And I will do my best. It really is gratitude."
Now, Selma's road to recovery just got a little brighter! She was just discharged from hospital care for her MS treatment.

Selma has called it her "banner day."

She also took the time to thank the healthcare professionals who were a part of her recovery.

The star will be immunocompromised for at least the next three months, so "no kisses, please," she said.
"I see things so much more clearly now. And I am excited to share this journey when I am ready."
