Forever 21 Is Sending Diet Bars With Plus-Size Orders And People Are Outraged

It's 2019 and more and more clothing brands, especially fast fashion retailers, are finally getting on board with inclusive sizes for clothes. Forever 21 is one of those brands, and they have a plus-size section dedicated to clothing with a wider range of sizes.

For some reason, Forever 21's marketing department thought it would be a great idea to include Atkins bars in their online shipments, and people are not happy about it at all.

Many customers were excited to receive their online orders, but got a surprise they were not expecting at all.

Twitter users and Forever 21 customers were outraged by the diet bar free sample, to say the least. They started sharing posts and pictures about this marketing blunder.

Many people who ordered plus-size clothing felt that including the diet bars was sending the wrong message.

They also felt it was triggering for those who are recovering from eating disorders as it promotes the exact thing they have worked to overcome.

It turns out that other non-plus-size shipments included the bars.

But people were quick to note that Forever 21 shouldn't be sending diet bars to anyone PERIOD.

Forever 21 ended up apologizing in a statement.

They told CNN, "From time to time, Forever 21 surprises our customers with free test products from third parties in their e-commerce orders. The freebie items in question were included in all online orders, across all sizes and categories, for a limited time and have since been removed. This was an oversight on our part and we sincerely apologize for any offense this may have caused to our customers, as this was not our intention in any way."
