Jenelle Evans Claims Cops Are Lying About Dog Killing Story: 'This Isn't A Publicity Stunt'

Jenelle Evans has had a very dramatic summer so far, and it looks like it's not going to stop anytime soon. Evans was recently awarded custody of her three children back after they were briefly removed from her home due to claims that Evans' husband David Eason was violent.

Back in May, it was reported that Jenelle's husband had shot and killed their dog, Nugget.

This incident was alleged to have occurred after the dog had "snapped" at their 2 year old daughter Ensley. Jenelle posted on her Instagram confirming the dog's passing.

"Nugget... I'm crying everyday," Jenelle wrote.

"I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless. You were my side kick and knew the moment I felt bad and would cuddle with me."

"You still had a lot to learn and a lot to grow from your lessons," the post continued.

"Everyday I wake up you’re not here, when I come home you’re not here, when I go to bed... you’re not here. You’re gone forever and there’s no coming back."

Her husband, David Eason, seemed to also confirm the story on his Instagram.

In a now-deleted post, he wrote, "I dont give a damn what animal bites my baby on the face... whether it be your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I dont put up with that [expletive] at all. "

"I'm all about protecting my family, it is my lifes mission," he went on.

"Some people are worth killing or dying for and my family means that much to me. You can hate me all you want but this isn't the first time the dog bit Ensley aggressively. The only person that can judge weather or not a animal is a danger to MY CHILD is ME."

David also shared a now-deleted video of the incident.

He also shared a shot of his daughter's face after the bite, which showed a reddened mark on her cheek but no broken skin.

This week, it was reported that Jenelle may have fabricated the story of her dog being shot.

Police searched the property where they found no blood evidence or any other physical evidence to validate that an animal had been fatally injured there, the Columbus County Sheriff's Office told E! News.

The statement continued.

"The evidence collected indicates that the allegations of animal cruelty were fabricated. Therefore, Columbus County Sheriff's Office is closing this investigation. No charges will be filed in this case."

The police department implied Jenelle had made social media posts about the incident to gather publicity.

"Social media can be a great tool when utilized for positive interactions," the statement read. "In this case, social media posts were utilized to incite follower's emotions to gain publicity."

Jenelle has now spoken up about this statement, and claims the police are lying.

In an interview with The Hollywood Gossip, Jenelle stated that the police asked her if the incident was true, or a publicity stunt, and her response was, "Yes, what you heard is true about my dog. This isn’t a publicity stunt and I’m not sure where my dog is or what happened to my dog but you would have to call David and ask."

Jenelle claims that the police are telling this story now to gain their own publicity.

"These police ended their 'investigation' a month ago and told David’s lawyer, Bill Gore, that they were closing the case. I honestly think they are doing this for their own publicity because they could have wrote up their “press release” weeks ago."

Jenelle said she felt attacked and exploited.

"I feel very attacked and exploited for no reason. The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is so crooked with their business that Detective Jacobs continued to call and harass me and David for weeks," she said.

Jenelle did confirm the police's claim that they found no evidence of the attack against the dog.

"That’s true," Jenelle said. "They didn’t find anything against me in any sort of way. I never broke the law to begin with."

Jenelle maintains she doesn't know for sure what happened when David took the dog outside.

"You would have to ask David what happened. I was not outside," she claims. However, she insists she was not lying about the incident, and says that her children even testified in court that "the story of the dog did in fact happen."

It is unclear what happened to Nugget, although there will be no charges of animal cruelty.

Jenelle states that, "I’ve never in my life dealt with a police department ever 'releasing a press statement' about their investigations."
