There’s always such a great buildup before holiday long weekends. especially the 4th of July. You’re feeling extremely giddy with excitement about chilling on a boat or at a cabin by a lake, or maybe you’re just utterly thrilled about staying home and doing absolutely not one thing .
And then suddenly those four days are gone in the blink of an eye and you have to face the harsh reality that you can’t chill hard for forever. Life is so hard.
The start of the Fourth of July long weekend is great because you feel like there is no time limit on your relaxation and happiness.
But unfortunately, as they say, all good things must come to an end.
It’s already difficult enough to recover from a two-day weekend. Now I have to recover from a four-day hangover, a possible sunburn, and the reality that I have actual work to do?
I need at least a day to open my eyes and adjust to that harsh glare of reality.
