Stunt doubles have been given a break lately as celebrities have attempted the #BottleCapChallenge.

If you’re not sure what that is, it basically involves twisting off a bottle cap with one swift kick.
Sounds easy, right?
Well, not so much, as Ryan Reynold and his hilarious fail just proved.
Over the years, a plethora of social media challenges have gone viral.
Remember how everyone and their aunt was doing the ALS ice bucket challenge in 2014?
And we can’t forget about planking or the cheerio challenge.
Planking became so huge, it was even featured on an episode of The Office .
There’s been some challenges we wish we *could* forget, like this condom challenge.
Need we say more?
Now, the most recent social media sensation is the #BottleCapChallenge.
Basically, the goal is to twist the cap off a bottle in one swift kick.
Kazakh Tae Kwon Do champion, Farabi Davletchin, is reportedly the one who started it all.
His Instagram name literally says “Kicks”, so, yeah, that makes sense.
In his post, he called out several celebs to accept what was eventually called the #BottleCapChallenge.
So far, action star, Jason Statham, and MMA fighter, Conor McGregor, has obliged to his post.
Soon, the challenge caught on with other celebs who wanted a “kick” at it.
Sure, he’s got the vocal chops, but John Mayer just proved that he’s got the karate chop, too.
Mayer’s kick was impressive, but so far, Hong Kong action star, Donnie Yen, has dominated like no other.
He did the whole thing freakin’ blindfolded!
Take that, John Mayer!
Other famous faces who have taken on the challenge include Diplo and David Spade.
Rapper Swae Lee also nailed it — while wearing Prada slides. #Winning.
Tons of celebs have been getting nominated, so we should be seeing more videos soon.
Not surprisingly, lots of UFC fighters have taken part in the fun.
Not fair, though, right?
I mean, they basically kick for a living.
There’s also been some hilarious fails, too.

Also, good on him for taking advantage of the viral marketing opportunity for his Aviation American Gin.
Turns out, Ryan isn’t the only celeb to hilariously fail at the challenge.
Country singer, Blake Shelton, didn’t have much luck either.
He failed big time while using his own bottle of Smithworks Vodka.

Maybe leave the kicks to the stunt doubles, eh, fellas?
