6+ Times Gigi Hadid Ruthlessly Shut Down Social Media Trolls

Supermodel Gigi Hadid has so much going for her: an amazing career, supportive friends and family, and the lavish lifestyle that being a celebrity brings.

Unfortunately, this also means dealing with trolls, from time to time.

Instead of shying away from the hate, Hadid has become a seasoned pro at clapping back at the haters — and we love her for it!

Here are 6+ times Gigi Hadid ruthlessly shut down her social media trolls.

1. When Gigi came for those who said her relationship to Zayn Malik was fake.

It all started when an Instagram user was trying to get people to follow their account.

They lured people in with how they could "know the truth" about the couple's relationship.

For instance, one post focused on how Zayn didn't follow Gigi on Instagram.

Instead of sitting back, Gigi clapped back at the user, saying: "Seems like u guys tag me in a new post every day … pls stop.. it's just negative."

She also explained that Zayn is virtually inactive on the app.

"I don't need his follow- my eyes are tattooed to his chest."

She said they're "beating a dead horse" and asked for them to stop.

"There's nothing to figure out all the time… give it a break."

Since then, the on-again-off-again couple seemed to call it quits for good this past January.

2. When she shut down a Twitter hater who called her boy crazy.

Gigi shut down a Twitter user, fast, when they came after her dating life.

It all started when she posted this pic of ex-boyfriend, Zayn.

While lots of love poured in, including people calling them "couple goals," one person wasn't so kind.

"practice how to walk properly instead of having a new bf every 2 weeks (sic)."

Oh, no, they didn't!

Hadid was quick to respond back with this ruthless tweet.

3. When she stood up to those who said she doesn't deserve her success.

Although Gigi comes from a famous family (her mother, Yolanda, was a model and cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), she's had to work hard for her success.

Unfortunately, some people thought otherwise.

During an event for Reebok in Sydney, she addressed those who say her success comes from a "privileged upbringing."

You tell 'em, Gigi!

She also added an "alternate tweet" that said "[expletive] off."

"My dad was a refugee," she continued.

"My mum was on a farm, went to New York and worked to send money back to her family."

"People say that I don't deserve to be where I am because I come from this successful family," she began.

"But my parents were [expletive] hard-working," she said.

4. When she had choice words for those body-shaming her for being too skinny.

No one is immune to body shamers v not even supermodels.

After walking the runway for Jeremy Scott and Bottega Veneta, some Twitter users used the platform to comment on her body.

And Gigi was having none of it.

She gave a swift reality check for those body-shamers with this tweet.

5. When the seasoned clapback pro came for more body shamers who criticized her body.

As a supermodel, you can expect a ton of bikini selfies on Gigi's Instagram.

What we shouldn't have to expect, though, is people commenting on her weight.

Luckily, Gigi knows just how to shut them down.

When people were commenting on how skinny she looks, she had this to say:

"It’s called growing up. Bodies change as girls become women, she began.

"Your comment won’t get me down," she continued.

"But next time, please think about the young women who may read body-judgment comments and judge themselves as they see their bodies growing and therefore naturally changing, too.”

6. When she wasn't afraid to call out blatant racism.

It was a sad day in 2017 when a suspect in a truck plowed down people on the streets of Manhatten, leading to eight people dead and several injured.

The attack was later linked to ISIS.

When one person blamed Muslims for the attacked on Twitter, Gigi spoke up.

If you didn't know, Gigi's father is Palestinian and her ex, Zayn, is Muslim and of Pakistani heritage.

We're so glad she used her platform to shut down racism.

7. When Gigi stood up to those who criticized her looks.

When Gigi took the time to take a photo with a fan, they were quick to judge her appearance.

They said she didn't look like her "usual self."

When someone asked, "why does she look like that?" the original poster said, "I just don't know."

Given this clapback-worthy response, Gigi didn't hold back when responding to the thread.

She also called the "fan" out for being "ugly" for her harsh words.

After this tweet, fans rushed in to support Gigi — and to tell her how good she looked.

8. When she defended herself after people said that *she* attacked the man who attacked her.

When a "prankster" grabbed and lifted Hadid off the ground at Milan Fashion Week, one news site tried to blame the model.

Gigi thanked Rachel for having her back and called the journalist in question out.

She also added:

"and had EVERY RIGHT to defend myself. How dare that idiot thinks he has the right to man-handle a complete stranger. He ran quick tho," she finished with some cheeky emojis.
