Woman Accidentally Runs Over And Kills Driving Instructor While Taking Test

Police have confirmed that a driving instructor in the Polish city of Rybnik died after he was run over by a 68-year-old woman taking her driving test on Monday, TVP Info reported.

The 35-year-old instructor reportedly died on the scene from his injuries.

The incident occurred on Monday at around 1:30 pm at the Provincial Traffic Center in Rybnik.

According to a statement from police, the woman was behind the wheel was being tested on a series of maneuvers in the center's maneuver square.

At this particular driving center, two tests can be conducted side-by-side on parallel tracks.

Police speculate that at the time of the incident, the slain instructor was actually testing another candidate, but was hit by the woman's car, which was likely being driven on a parallel track.

In an interview with TVP Info, deputy police comissioner Ryszard Czepczor said the events leading up to the incident are still being investigated.

"A 68-year-old woman, in circumstances which are unknown at the present time, hit the examiner, who unfortunately as a result of his injuries died at the scene," he said. "When we spoke to the woman she was in a state of shock, and because of that, speaking to her would be quite difficult."

It is unclear what led to the woman hitting the man with her testing vehicle.

However, TVP Info released a video briefly showing the vehicle as it was being loaded on a truck and hauled away.

The front bumper and license plate of the car are visibly damaged and hanging off the vehicle, likely indicating the point of impact.
