'Teen Mom' Star Dragged Online After Calling Her 10-Year-Old 'A Woman Of Value'

There has always been an element of controversy when it comes to so-called "stage parents" and their famous children. Some people believe children should be able to enjoy their childhood and are against children working in the spotlight.

Reality TV star Farrah Abraham is under fire for a post that detailed her 10-year-old daughter's business ventures, and for calling her a "woman of value". The comments got pretty heated over this post.

You probably remember Farrah Abraham from the MTV shows "16 And Pregnant" and "Teen Mom".

MTV

Farrah was on the first season of 16 And Pregnant when it debuted back in 2009. Since then, she's starred in the spin-off series Teen Mom and a few other MTV shows.

Farrah has become a model and has even had a few film roles in the years that followed her MTV debut.

She's also in the process of recording her own Masterclass series on entrepreneurship. Say what you will about her, but she's probably one of the most famous moms to come out of 16 And Pregnant.

And if you can believe it, her daughter Sophia is 10-years-old.

I know! Crazy, right? It seems like just yesterday we were watching her as a baby on 16 And Pregnant. Time really does fly.

Sophia is somewhat of a celebrity in her own right, and has been competing in pageants. She even has her own Instagram account with over 800,000 followers.

However, a recent Instagram post made by Farrah has caused some controversy.

In these photos taken at one of Sophia's recent pageants, Farrah congratulated her on her win called her a "woman of value".

She went on to call Sophia "self-made" and said, "I’m proud of you creating your own brand, taking interviews, meetings, having your on agents, and your own companies."

The post sparked controversy, as many people believe Farrah started a business in her daughter's name.

Farrah and Sophia used to own a children's clothing store named Sophia Laurent Children's Boutique. It has since closed, but Sophia is still trying to make a brand for herself through pageants and her social media accounts.

Others called Farrah out for saying Sophia, who is 10, can't be "self-made" since she isn't old enough.

This commenter told Farrah to, "Let her be a child" and "stop trying to live your dream through her."

Sophia's Instagram account does state that she's managed by Farrah, but it's hard to know for sure how involved either of them are when it comes to Sophia's businesses.

Some people don't think Sophia should be working at all.

A lot of Instagram users commented saying that Sophia should be able to enjoy her childhood and not worry about running her own company.

So far, Farrah has not responded to any of the criticism but her fans have come to her defense.

One commenter fired back saying, "She has created a wonderful life for her daughter. You need to chill out and just accept that Farrah may be weird and have her bad traits but being a mother isn't one of them."

What do you think? Was Farrah's post out of line?
