Amy Schumer Proudly Flaunts Her C-Section Scar In A New Pic

When it comes to getting real about motherhood, Amy Schumer is killing it right now with her hilarious and honest Instagram posts.

Known for never being one to shy away from sharing all aspects of her life with her fans through her social media accounts and her work, Amy has continued this trend as she navigates motherhood.

In her latest update, Amy proudly showed off her C-section scar and moms everywhere are loving it.

Comedian Amy Schumer became a mom to a baby boy back in May.

After sharing updates with fans through Instagram during her difficult pregnancy, Amy announced baby Gene's arrival shortly after giving birth.

It should come as no surprise that since giving birth, Amy has kept up with her real posts about motherhood.

Unlike a lot of celebrities, Amy's Instagram posts about life as a new mom aren't perfectly posed and edited. Her photos are real and messy — just like motherhood.

In a somewhat controversial move, Amy's already returned to stand up.

Amy appeared at The Comedy Cellar and I'm in awe. I'm pretty sure I barely showered and got dressed for a month after becoming a mom, let alone thought to go out and do a stand-up show. Go, Amy!

The mom-shamers came out in full force.

There were a ton of Instagram comments on her post criticizing her for wanting to return to work so soon after giving birth to Gene, but Amy took it all in stride.

She fired back in an Instagram post.

With a shot showing her breast pumping and looking just a little tired, she said, "Sending out love to the moms shaming me for doing standup last night!"

Of course, Amy received a ton of support.

Selma Blair commented wondering who would even try to shame a mother for getting back to work and doing it well. Besides, it's stand up comedy — it's not like Amy jumped back into doing intense physical labor!

Her fans stuck by her too.

Obviously! When you support someone, you'll always support them doing what they love, and Amy knows better than any random person on the Internet what's right for her, her body, and her baby.

But the mom-shamers weren't done.

Amy's had another run-in with the holier-than-thou shamers on Instagram, but this time it's surrounding something much less obviously controversial — her underwear.

Earlier this week, Amy did a photoshoot in her "hospital undies" to mark five weeks of motherhood.

"Hospital undies" are stretchy, mesh underwear that a lot of new moms wear during the recovery stage. They are really absorbent and really comfy!

Fans and other celeb moms praised Amy for sharing this side of motherhood.

I feel like we just started acknowledging that hospital undies even exist and that — surprise — women need to recover after giving birth.

Amy's posts are helping to spread awareness about the truth about postpartum life.

Amy received some criticism for sharing her hospital underwear pics, and addressed the haters in a new post.

"I’m really sorry if I offended anyone with my hospital underwear," she said in the caption of her post.

In her next picture, Amy flashed her C-Section scar and finished her caption saying, "Except I'm just kidding."

Ha! I knew Amy wouldn't bow down to the haters so easily. This is also the first time that Amy has revealed that she underwent a C-section.

It looks like she's not going to stop with the honest mom updates anytime soon, either!

Since sharing this epic clapback, fans continue to praise Amy for her real posts.

Other moms were jealous of Amy's seemingly never-ending supply of hospital underwear. It's true! I only got one pair and then had to fend for myself after that.

We need more posts from celeb moms like this.

I get it — not every new mom is ready to share this much about themselves with the world (I definitely wasn't keen on that idea), but these posts are starting an important conversation about what motherhood actually looks like.

Keep up the amazing work, Amy!

Amy is definitely not going to let anyone stop her from doing what she knows is right for her and her family, and she's not going to back down from the mom-shamers on Instagram either. We salute you!
