Russian Women Compete In ‘Booty Slapping Contest’ To Become Smacking Champions

Human beings are inherently competitive creatures. Call it natural selection; call it survival of the fittest; call it ego—whatever you want.

The only thing we love more than competing against one another is the lovely, thrilling catharsis of watching other people compete from the comfort of our own homes. Zero risk and high reward, what could be better than that?

Quirky and out-there competitions and contests have existed for a long time.

Eating contests are arguably one of the most popular contests that the general public knows about.

The Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest has been going on since 1916!

But we want more than just seeing people stuff their faces with hot dogs.

We want more thrill, more shock, and more wild head-scratching type contests and competitions.

TV competitions are getting progressively wilder and wilder.

With the previous popularity of shows like Fear Factor and Wipe-out, audiences are hungrier for increased danger, more entertainment, and higher stakes.

Nowadays, competition creators are getting creative with added prize pools, sex appeal, and a high level of public recognition for winners.

Last year, Siberia even hosted a face slapping competition.

Yeah, you heard that right. A face slapping contest.

Videos of competitors ruthlessly smacking each other across the face for sport quickly went viral around the world, and drew interest from a number of professional athletes and celebrities.

Now Russia has come up with the next best thing: booty slapping.

This year's "Booty Slapping Championships" had Russian women smacking each others backsides on stage at the Yashankin Cup in Siberia.

To win the competition, one needs to smack their competitor so hard that they step forward.

Many of the participants had been vigorously training for months.

Russian Instagram model and bottom-slapping champion Anastasia Zolotaya documented her intense fitness regime as she trained for the competition.

Though she endorses a well-rounded exercise routine, most of her athletic focus was on toning the gluteus maximus in preparation for the championship.

The booty slapping contest was part of a larger event.

The Siberian Power Show is a two-day extravaganza that features bun smacking, pole dancing, and mass wrestling.

Booty slapping takes place on the second day of the event, and lasts a total of two whopping hours.

Tickets to the show cost around $6 US.

Not bad for a day packed full of beautiful people trying to smack each other!

So, will you be purchasing a plane ticket to Russia for the event?

I'm pretty sure the rapper Akon told us about this event years ago via the early 2000's hit "Smack That". That's definitely what the tune is about, right?

Watch the action yourself!

Maybe turn down your volume so that each slap doesn't send you flying out your desk chair.

Once again, Russia's got us beat. Literally.
