10 Things That Really Shouldn't Have Happened

Many of us can remember having a brush with danger in our lives. With the chaotic way life can work sometimes, a harrowing situation can suddenly arise on the most routine days. You could do something a million times in your life without incident, but it only takes a slight difference in the process to turn everything on its head.

You may be painfully aware of what's going on or it could take a moment before you realize, "Whoa, I think I almost died." Either way, these close calls can come with a shuddering feeling that you can look back on in amazement for years to come.

Today, we're going to go through 10 of these kinds of situations. Nobody wants to be stuck in them, but there's still a much worse way they could have gone.

Please COMMENT and share the scariest moments that you survived.

1. This is about as close as it gets.

I'm not sure what led this car to skid out of control like this, but the man in the yellow managed to jump out of the way just in time. Crazier still, the driver seemed relatively unharmed considering his head hit the windshield so hard that he broke it.

2. This chemical plant explosion had a sad outcome, but it could have been so much worse.

An oxygen tank exploded and tragically caused the death of a 46-year-old worker, but the vehicles outside narrowly managed to avoid it. Officials also managed to contain the blast before any chemicals leaked into the water table.

3. Apparently this ceiling caved in at 2 a.m. thanks to unfinished roofing.

The roofing company apparently left the job half-finished because the builder refused to give them more money at an earlier time than what was laid out in their contract. From there, all it took was some heavy rainfall to make everything collapse.

As you might expect, the roofing company has a lawsuit in its future.

4. Someone managed to get a shot of these falling meteors mid-flight.

While it definitely makes for a cool photo, those are pretty unnerving to share the sky with. After all, who's to say they couldn't have fallen into the plane's flight path?

As if there wasn't enough to worry about when you take to the skies.

5. This plane had a blowout while going 180 mph during landing.

reddit | therealmikechadwick

Since landings are often the hardest part of flying, this is one of the last things a pilot wants to deal with.

6. This is the most fearless goat I've ever seen.

You'd never catch me walking around so many crocodiles, that's for sure.

7. This sight is bad enough until you realize these are brown recluse spiders.

reddit | Richardbagot

Depending on a person's sensitivity, their bites can leave an open wound as large as a human hand.

8. It's a bad day when a great white shark tries to make your boat its lunch.

reddit | sexyloser1128

Fortunately, it's biting into a rigid inflatable boat, which is designed not to sink. Still, the passengers are going to be in for a bumpy ride.

9. A truck's cargo caused some serious damage when it broke free.

reddit | TheCannon

It seems hard to believe when you look at the wreckage, but fortunately nobody was injured.

10. Oh man, there's no way you'd ever get me to do this.

You may be extreme enough for cliff diving, but I'm nowhere near comfortable enough with heights.
