Meghan Markle's Dad Is Not Happy About That New 'Harry & Meghan' Movie

Meghan Markles father Thomas Markle is no stranger to the media. In fact, some may argue he loves to grab the media's attention. After the drama of Meghan and Harry's royal wedding elganza extravaganza died down, Thomas has gotten a little quieter in regards to public statements and staged paparazzi photo shoots.

However, the release of the new Lifetime movie "Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal" has apparently triggered Thomas and he's now speaking out about the film.

One of the last times we heard from Thomas was during an interview with Good Morning Britain where he claimed Meghan had "ghosted" him.

Now, back to the film. "Harry & Meghan" premiered on the Lifetime network this past Memorial Day, and has been subjected to *a lot* of criticisms, of course, as most Lifetime movies are, lol.

Still, we popped our popcorn and curiously hate-watched with the rest of the world.

And honestly? I loved the movie because plot twist — I love ALL trashy royal family Lifetime movies.

The lead actress playing Meghan, Tiffany Smith, totally looks like Meghan it's honestly WILD.

Anyway, the main reason I've gathered you all today is to discuss this particular scene from the movie.

In it, Meghan gets the now infamous call from her father saying he won't be able to attend her wedding due to his heart condition.

The fictional Thomas calls fictional Meghan and claims to be having "heart palpitations" and Meghan calls him out for telling the tabloids before telling her and Harry.

Fictional Thomas addresses those staged photos I was talking about earlier, saying "Samantha (Meghan's sister) thought it would be a good idea to have the paparazzi take staged pictures of me so I could look better in the eyes of the public."

Yikes.

"Talking to the paps, getting paid by the paps is not the answer Tom" says fictional Harry, before fictional Tom truly POPS OFF.

"Fine. Well maybe it would be better for you guys if I was dead. That way you could pretend to be sad!" before hanging up on fictional Meghan and Harry.

Well, Thomas did not like this portrayal at all and spoke with TMZ about the "dumb fiction" film.

He told TMZ he is "incredibly disappointed in how the Lifetime TV flick portrayed the Markle family drama leading up to last year's Royal Wedding, and feels personally attacked by the network."

One of Thomas' biggest issues with the film is with the assertion he never told Meghan and Harry he couldn't make it to their wedding.

IMDb

He told TMZ that was not true, and he feels the movie is filled with tons of "dumb fiction."

Regardless of what's true and what's not, I think most viewers were watching the film knowing it was just BASED off of real life events.
