10+ Disney Live-Action Movies That Are Coming To Theaters

Get your calendars ready people, because we're going to talk about the release schedule for the upcoming live-action Disney movies.

Perhaps you will see one of your favorite childhood movies being remade.

The Lion King.

Disney

Release Date: July 19, 2019

So it seems that Jon Favreau is Disney's go-to guy when they want a big hit.

And I mean, you combine the guy that made Iron Man with one of the highest grossing animated movies of all time... and you've got magic.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

Disney

Release Date: October 18, 2019

From the trailer, it looks like they're going to make the classic villain a lot more evil in this sequel.

You know what, it's right there in the title, isn't it?

Lady and the Tramp.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

Hey, everyone likes to see cute dogs doing cute dog stuff.

And especially when they have the spaghetti and their noses touch... it's going to look absolutely adorable in live action.

Pinocchio.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

I could see Pinocchio himself looking pretty horrifying. In fact, this animated classic has a bunch of terrifying nightmare fuel.

Remember the whale? The boys turning into donkeys? Awesome, we get to scar a whole new generation.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

Ooh, boy, do I love Hunchback. I can't wait to see who they cast as Minister Frollo and how they do "Hellfire".

Probably one of the best villain songs of all time.

Prince Charming.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

Finally! A movie starring a man saving poor, helpless women.

After seeing all these empowering female roles in new Disney films, it's nice to see them return to form.

Sarcasm aside, they'll probably put a twist on it.

Oliver Twist.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

So what approach do you think they'll take here? Go for a straight up Oliver Twist story?

Do Oliver And Company again? Maybe make it contemporary? All I know is that Ice Cube is in it.

Mulan.

Disney

Release Date: March 27, 2020

Well, hopefully, they can find their reflection in this movie or at least the reflection of some money.

If so, it will definitely bring honor to everyone at Disney.

James and the Giant Peach.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

Well... Can't say I saw this one coming.

It's not that James and the Giant Peach is a bad movie or anything, I just didn't think they would make a live action remake.

Cruella.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

Didn't they already make a live-action remake of 101 Dalmations?

Are we rebooting the series, maybe taking a look at the dog skinning villain's perspective, ala Malificent?

Tink.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

Wow, the first ever Tinkerbell movie!

Not counting Tinker Bell, Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue, Secret of the Wings, Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast...

Peter Pan.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

I wonder if this and the Tink movie will be connected at all. Ooh, do I sense an Avengers style universe?

One where the Will Smith genie and Simba team up to take on Ratigan?

The Sword in the Stone.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

Ah, yes, the classic animated picture The Sword in the Stone.

Everyone remembers that wizard fight and... um... well, honestly, that's all that I personally can remember.

Lilo and Stitch.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

This one I can see being pretty good... depending on how they style Stitch.

If the new Sonic movie is any indicator, little furry blue creatures have a hard time transitioning into live action.

The Little Mermaid.

Disney

Release Date: TBA

And finally, we end with a Disney classic. I will bet my salary for the year that Ursula is played by Laverne Cox.

She's got the voice, she's got the power, I can see it.
