There are so many things you can ignore in life, but your body is definitely not one of them. When nature calls, you have to answer it, although maybe it's a good idea not to be too aggressive during the phone call.

Humans have been popping a squat on these things since 1596 when they were first invented by Sir John Harrington, the Godson of Queen Elizabeth I.
A very proud moment for her majesty, I'm sure.
A poll of 2,000 adults found that on average, we spend a total of three hours and nine minutes on the toilet every week. That's about seven minutes longer than the run time of Avengers: Endgame, just to put it in perspective for you.
A man in Hong Kong has shared the story of his mom who experienced temporary amnesia after exerting herself a little too hard on her porcelain throne.
Understandably, the constant bloating and feeling of discomfort were really starting to get to her. So she decided to take matters into her own hands and essentially try and force herself out of the constipation.
When she finally emerged, her family was shocked to find she had forgotten the past 10 years of her life.
I'm sure this was super scary for the woman. Imagine suddenly forgetting everything that's happened to you in the last decade. Not so eager to go use the bathroom anymore, are you?
They took her to the hospital, believing there must be something wrong with her brain to have caused the temporary memory loss.
He explained that it was likely caused by the excessive force she exerted while attempting to relieve herself of her two-week constipation.
This force she exerted led to an increase in abdominal and intra-cerebral pressure, causing a significant lack of oxygen flow to her brain. Thus, her short-term memory loss.
This includes people who are highly emotional and people who frequently carry heavy objects.
It's not just temporary amnesia they have to worry about, either. These people are apparently also 30 percent more likely to suffer a stroke than the average person. Yikes.
Personally, I'd say a good takeaway would be to never overdo it on the toilet, unless you want to briefly forget the last 10 years or so.
Or maybe just invest in some constipation medicine and save yourself a lot of trouble.
