New parents Meghan Markle and Prince Harry presented their new baby, Archie, to the world in May of 2019.
The tradition-breaking twosome held a photo call with the press to show the world their son. On such a potentially stressful occasion, what could Harry have whispered to Meghan in that moment?
Well, now we know!
From being an entirely unexpected couple — an American TV star and a prince — to their courtship and marriage, they've always done things a little differently.
Meghan's pregnancy was no exception.
Meghan and Harry shook royal watchers to their cores when they announced that they were not planning to share their birthing plan.
Not letting strangers in on every detail of a birth seems like common sense to me, but even members of the public were angry.
Not only would they not be divulging everything, but the new royal baby wouldn't be born at St. Mary's Hospital, where Kate and Princess Diana also gave birth.
Meghan instead had Archie at Portland Hospital in London, close to their home at Frogmore Cottage.
Rather than put on makeup, have her hair done, and put on a dress mere hours after giving birth, Meghan (and Harry) decided to skip the media-intense introduction that William and Kate did with their three children.
Archie's arrival was announced on a ceremonial easel outside Buckingham palace.
Previous royal babies have also been announced in the same way, so the couple added a little tradition to their rebellious family!
Unlike his cousins, who met the press hours after coming into the world, Meghan and Harry gave themselves time.
They chose to present Archie — and reveal his name — on May 8th, two days after his birth.
The family travelled to Windsor Castle to meet with the press and reveal Archie to the world.
As they emerged into the hallway, Harry whispered a little something to Meghan mere moments ahead of taking questions.
Metro asked an expert lip reader to examine the family's entrance and work out what he whispered.
Adorably, he whispered a message of solidarity and support to his wife: "Here we go."
According to the same lip reader, Tina Lannin, Archie was also in awe of his son.
While looking at Archie, Harry very faintly said, "He’s so quiet."
Aw, what a cute new dad.
While at the photo op, Meghan said:
"It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m really happy."
This is what she deserves, you guys!
Meghan continued, "He has the sweetest temperament, he's really calm."
Quiet, calm, sweet? Archie might be the dream baby, especially for first-time parents! Surely all of that will change as he grows older, of course.
When asked who he resembled, Meghan said that they were still trying to figure that out.
"Everyone says that babies change so much over two weeks, we're basically monitoring how the changing process happens over this next month really."
So...neither?
Because he's Harry, of course.
Even though they weren't sure who their new son resembled more, Harry had an observation:
"He's already got a little bit of facial hair as well, wonderful." See, he takes after his dad already!
Wrapping up the photo op, Meghan and Harry took time to thank everyone for their support.
"Thank you, everybody, for all the well wishes and kindness, it just means so much," Meghan said.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, and Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland were all on hand to meet their grandchild.
Archie is the Queen and Duke's eighth great-grandchild, and Doria's first.
He's currently seventh in line for the throne.
