Johnny Depp Releases Final Text From Ex-Wife Amber Heard Before Divorce Battle

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are two names that just can't seem to stay out of the news for very long, particularly not since they divorced and began accusing each other of abuse, among other things.

But let's go back to the very beginning for a moment, because it's definitely worth taking a look at where this couple started before talking about where they are now.

This less-than-fairy-tale romance all began back in 2011 on the set of the movie 'Rum Diary'.

Heard and Depp began dating after after featuring in the film together. They got married in February 2015.

Just one year later, Heard filed a restraining order against her husband.

In the divorce case, Heard accused him of domestic abuse.

In January 2017, their divorce was finalized, but that wouldn't be the last we heard of these two.

In January, Depp filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard.

This lawsuit is the result of Heard publishing an op-ed piece in the Washington Post in which she describes her experience as a survivor of domestic abuse.

"Ms. Heard is not a victim of domestic abuse, she is a perpetrator," the lawsuit stated.

Since then, the former couple has only continued to accuse each other of just about everything possible.

At the beginning of May, Depp accused Heard of orchestrating her 911 phone call with her friend the night the alleged abuse took place.

The timing of the call was under question.

Although Heard's friend, Tillett Wright, claims he called 911 right after hearing the alleged abuse over the phone, phone records showed he actually waited over an hour and a half.

What happened in that hour and a half?

It was during this time, Depp's lawyers allege, that Heard and Wright were getting their "story" together.

Now the duo are in the news again after court papers reveal new details given by Depp himself.

According to Unilad, recently obtained court papers filed in Fairfax County, Virginia, Depp made a declaration in which he accused Heard of staging her own bruises. He made a declaration after Heard asked a Virginia judge to dismiss Depp's lawsuit.

In his declaration, he says Heard began accusing him of domestic violence when he wouldn't give her money.

Following this, he states that the prominent facial bruising and cut Heard showed up to court with on May 27, 2016, which she claimed were the result of Depp throwing a cell phone at her face, were "staged".

As part of the declaration, Depp shared the text message he claims Heard sent him before their divorce battle.

In the text, Heard said she and Depp could "do this or undue [sic] this as we see fit. You and I have the control. And love each other."

"I have nothing but love for you."

Later in the message, Heard claims she thought Depp filed for divorce. "You said you were going to and said goodbye. I'm sorry if I've hurt you," she wrote.

Depp also referenced a violent incident over a decade ago between Heard and then-wife, Tasya Van Ree.

He spoke about how Heard had been arrested in Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in 2009 after police officers witnessed her committing domestic violence against Van Ree.

The story continued.

According to Depp, Van Ree asked police to arrest Heard, but she wasn't charged because neither of them were residents of King County, Washington. So, Heard only spent a night in jail and appeared before a judge in court.

However, Van Ree herself has said that Heard is "an honest woman."

In a statement obtained by E! News, Van Ree said, "In 2009, Amber was wrongfully accused for an incident that was misinterpreted and over-sensationalized [...] I recount hints of misogynistic attitudes toward us which alter appeared to be homophobic when they found out we were domestic partners and not just ‘friends.' Charges were quickly dropped and she was released moments later."

Other former partners of Heard have come forward to share stories of abuse, Depp claimed.

He said his advisors are interviewing and collecting evidence from these "fearful" victims.

Depp also claimed Heard was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when she committed acts of domestic violence against him and that she's admitted to "multiple" of these instances under oath.

Heard has yet to publicly respond.
