Wrestling Legend Ric Flair Hospitalized After 'Very Serious' Medical Emergency

Although many people are quick to point out that wrestling is "fake," the hard work that wrestlers undertake to entertain their faithful fans is very real. Unfortunately, so too are the consequences of that hard work.

Wrestling takes an almost unimaginable toll on the body, and that toll can have tragic results when it catches up with superstars like Rowdy Roddy Piper and Eddie Guerrero.

For this reason, fans can often feel concerned for and protective of the legends of wrestling's golden age who remain. Unfortunately, an ongoing emergency involving WWE superstar Ric Flair is proving to be a newfound cause for concern.

Since the mid-'70s, Flair has delighted fans with his flamboyant charisma as the "Nature Boy."

His physical exploits have earned him many a championship over the years and fans have had plenty of reason to shout his "woo!" catchphrase along with him all the way.

However, in recent years, the now 70-year-old's health has fluctuated to dangerous extremes.

As TMZ reported, he was rushed to an Atlanta hospital this morning.

Unfortunately, it's unclear exactly what happened to him at this time, but the situation is being regarded as "very serious."

A similarly worrying emergency threatened his life back in 2017.

In that case, his intestine had ruptured and he was placed in a medically induced coma for 11 days.

Although the situation seemed grave at times, Flair was able to recover.

After his recovery, he married his longtime girlfriend Wendy Barlow, who supported him during that episode.

Until today's emergency, Flair's health seemed to show signs of improvement as he approached his 70th birthday.

And since he had been through a lot by then, this improvement was deserving of a massive birthday party.

According to TMZ, Charles Barkley, Jeff Hardy, Triple H, Evander Holyfield and Dennis Rodman were all in attendance.

However, the outcome of the unknown condition that now ails Flair remains uncertain.
