No matter what opinions you have on Game of Thrones, if you're a fan, you're probably excited for the prequel show.

Here's what we know so far.

It takes place about 6,000 years before 'Game of Thrones'.

Given that, we know that we won't be seeing any of the characters we know and love in their young years.

We won't be seeing their father or mothers, either.

We will be seeing some iconic characters.

Many people are looking forward to Brandon! Brandon the Builder built the forts that we see in the show.

Brandon created House Stark and was the first King of the North.

They have begun the casting process.

While we don’t know too much about what characters we will get to see, we do know some people who are cast in the show. One of them is Naomi Watts.

Some fans think that she will be playing Nissa Nissa, who was the wife of the hero Azor Ahai

Miranda Richardson who played Rita Skeeter in 'Harry Potter' has also been cast.

Josh Whitehouse has also joined the crew.

This is along with Jamie Campbell Bower, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley and more.

David Benioff and D.B Weiss are not involved.

At least not yet.

Plenty of fans might feel better about it since they’re unhappy with the way the series has been going lately.

It's in the hands of George R.R. Martin and Jane Goldman.

HBO revealed the plot line of the prequel as, "the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour."

That sounds...legendary.

When should we expect the release?

HBO

Fans of the hit show are used to waiting a long time before they get any new content.

So hopefully they’re okay with waiting until 2020.
