Child Discovers $40K Worth Of Meth Inside LEGO Box

Remember LEGO?

Those colorful plastic bricks that allowed us to live our wildest architectural dreams and construct the most unique structures ever?

Or maybe, if you were like me, you just tried to make a really tall tower.

In any case, we all either played with LEGO or had the unfortunate experience of blindly stepping on a brick which is basically the worst thing that can happy to anyone anywhere. (If you disagree then clearly you've never stepped on one.)

Nowadays, LEGO has become a bit more complicated than the stuff we had.

They're not playing around over there. Kids are using LEGO sets to build all sorts of things, like an elaborate Minecraft community, as seen the picture above.

Some of the more expert LEGO builders have even constructed entire statues out of the bricks.

Check out his Captain Marvel made entirely out of LEGO. Bit of a far cry from the unstable LEGO towers of 'yore.

Someone even made Aquaman out of LEGO.

Look at that magnificent hero - still a force to be reckoned with, even when made up entirely of LEGO pieces. That's spectacular.

There's truly a LEGO pack to satisfy any child's interests, from Star Wars to Harry Potter and everything else in between.

Fancy making a replica of the Hogwarts castle entirely out of small plastic bricks? LEGO has got you covered.

One kid was surprised to find that his box of LEGO was missing one key component: LEGO.

According to CNN, a child in Georgia opened up their LEGO box but didn't find any bricks inside. Instead, they discovered a clear bag filled with methamphetamine.

$40,000 worth of meth, to be exact.

Apparently, three women had stopped at a thrift store in South Carolina and purchased the used toy for the boy. Their hearts were in the right places but perhaps they could have opened the box themselves first before giving it over to the child.

The sheriff's department was contacted and they seized the bag from who we assume was a pretty confused kid.

After all, not only did their present turn out to contain absolutely no LEGO whatsoever, but the cops then showed up and took the present away altogether.

As of right now, no arrests have been made. So the kid got away with it scot-free. (Calm down, we're just kidding.)

The DEA said the box likely arrived at the thrift store and was put up for sale without anyone checking inside of it.

Jim Riggs, an an investigator with the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office, told WBSTV that some dealers send drugs to empty locations to be picked up, but the US Postal Service won't leave the packages at these places. So instead, they usually wind up left with a neighbor or sold at auction. Hence, its arrival at the thrift store.

We just hope this incident proves to be a lesson for all thrift store owners and shoppers out there. Always check thoroughly check your items before buying/selling.

Otherwise you may have to have a pretty awkward conversation about the difference between LEGO and meth with a kid.
