This Fan Theory Has Us Convinced That Theon Will Turn Bran Into A White Walker On ‘Game Of Thrones’

Here I go again on my own. Looking at the only fan theory I've ever known.

Like a Night King, I was born to walk alone. And I've made up my mind... I'm writing about this one this time.

Boy howdy, we sure do love "Game Of Thrones" fan theories

Giphy

We're totally obsessed with them, or at least I am.

Will the Night King avoid Winterfell? Is Podrick's secret with women his golden tongue?

Will Jon Snow have any part in helping to destroy Thanos?

Wait, hold on, different movie.

Giphy

Listen, I write a lot of Avengers and Game Of Thrones stuff here, it's bound to get mixed up. Sorry about that folks, I'll try not to get Bran Stark mixed up with Dr. Strange.

Speaking of Bran Stark.

HBO

He's probably one of the most interesting characters left alive in the series.

He's a warg (he can see through the eyes of animals, control them, etc), he's got the greensight (he can see past, present and future), he's got the urge (to herbal).

We've seen a lot of faces in the Season 8 Episode 3 trailer.

HBO

Daenerys, Jon, Arya. But one is strangely missing: Bran Starks slender, psychic mug.

We know that he's being used as bait for the Night King but... what could be his part in all this?

Well, one Redditor has a theory.

HBO

One Reddit user, named cabtx says that they know how Bran is going to fit into this big, GoT puzzle.

He's going to be turned into a White Walker.

Woah, bomb drop, jeez.

HBO

Cabtx begins his explanation like this:

“Bran has a master plan and he is going to start putting it into action in episode 3 when he arranges to have Theon turn him into a White Walker at the weirwood in Winterfell!"

He continues.

HBO

He talks about Bran's powers and how they can help against the night king:

"With powers of greensight, [warging], AND the vast knowledge of the 3ER [three-eyed raven], Bran could turn into a WW with the same powers of the Night King. In fact, he may be able to be more powerful than the NK. This might allow Bran to warg or control the ice dragon and/or WW & wights. My guess is that he will be able to. He will be key in taking out the Night King by interrupting or challenging the NK’s powerful abilities of warging.”

And here's what Bran will do with the Army afterwards:

HBO

"Once Bran becomes a NK he is able to release them from servitude, but realizes no one should have the kind of power he has and Bran either burns with the remaining Army of the Dead or gets decapitated and wargs/Drowns into the weirwoods permanently. My guess is that he drowns in the Weirwoods."

So what does Theon Greyjoy have to do with this?

HBO

I mean, he's in the thumbnail, clearly he's got something to do with this.

Well, while he might not be as integral to the story as our boy Bran, he's played a pretty big part in Bran's life.

Theon has saved Bran's life.

There was a time when a wildling was holding a knife to Bran's throat and Theon shot an arrow through the dude's heart. BAM! That Theon is one heck of a shot.

Not just once, either.

You could argue that he also saved him and his brother Rickon when they ran away from Winterfell and Theon pretended they were dead.

By doing so, he made sure no one came after them.

So how will Theon do it?

YouTube | ExploreWesteros

Well, much like a way he saved Bran before, he will shoot a dragon glass arrow through Bran's heart, turning him into a White Walker so he can fight the Night King.

Cabtx even talks about Theon's place in this theory:

HBO

“By fulfilling this last wish of Bran, Theon will forge Bran into the only weapon capable of beating the NK. Bran will become the Lightbringer who will drive back the darkness..."

And why Theon would even do it.

HBO

"All the guilt, punishment, and regrets Theon has are wrapped up in Bran. Bran is the key to Theon’s redemption. By turning Bran into a new Night King, Theon will finally be fully redeemed.”

What's your hot take on this theory?

Giphy

Do you think they're going to make Bran a White Walker? Or do you think that Dr. Strange had the battle of Winterfell planned the whole time? D'oh! I did it again!
