People Are Dragging A Former 'Bachelor' Star For Drinking Wine While Breastfeeding

Mom-shamers will always find a way to criticize moms on the internet, won't they?

This time, they're going after one former contestant from The Bacehelor after she posted a photo of herself nursing her baby and holding a glass of wine.

Of course, trolls were quick to judge this mom, but many also came to her defense.

You probably remember Bekah Martinez from the 22nd season of "The Bachelor" where she competed for Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s heart.

Sadly, Bekah did not get a rose and was eliminated in week seven.

Since leaving the show, Bekah began dating her current partner, Grayston Leonard.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child together in September 2018.

Bekah documented her pregnancy on Instagram and her YouTube channel for her fans.

The 24-year-old was clearly excited to become a mom and we loved seeing her cute posts about her growing baby bump.

Since her daughter was born in February 2019, Bekah has also been super honest about her breastfeeding journey.

She's been sharing intimate photos like this one on social media of her nursing her daughter. Beautiful!

However, a recent breastfeeding pic posted by Bekah has caused a lot of controversy.

The photo shows Bekah nursing her daughter while holding a glass of wine.

"I was waiting patiently for her to finish nursing before beginning my (single!) glass of wine :)," Bekah wrote in the caption.

It didn't take long for the mom-shaming to start.

A lot of people were quick to judge Bekah for choosing to drink a single glass of wine after nursing her baby.

One person even went so far as to ask Bekah, "How stupid are you?"

This response seems a little dramatic, no? I'd have to trust the mom in this situation. If her doctor cleared her to drink a glass of wine, I wouldn't argue with that.

However, many also came to Bekah's defense.

A lot of moms replied to the haters in the comments and set them straight on the guidelines when it comes to drinking and breastfeeding.

For the record, the CDC recommends that mothers who wish to have a drink do so after nursing and then waiting two hours before nursing again.

The CDC says that one standard drink per day is not known to be harmful to an infant, so moms can safely enjoy a single drink.

Take that, mom-shamers. Science is on our side!
