Here's What Our Favorite 'Game Of Thrones' Actors Did Before They Came To Westeros

Believe it or not, the people on everyone's favorite TV series, Game Of Thrones, had a life before the show. Shocking we know!

Let's explore some of those past lives, shall we?

Kit Harrington a.k.a Jon Snow

Believe it or not, but this young English actor got his first T.V. appearance on Game Of Thrones.

Before that, he was a drama student playing the role of Albert in the National Theatre's adaptation of War Horse. Afterward, it was straight to fame and critical acclaim!

Lena Headey a.k.a. Cersei Lannister

You want a... er... lady of the evening, buy one. You want a Queen, then look no further than Lena Headey, who's used to playing royalty.

Sure, she had a lot of blockbuster movies before GoT, but you'd probably know her as Leonidas' queen in 300.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau a.k.a. Jaime Lannister

Before his breakout role in the series, the first Lannister son on this list landed some decent roles. Namely, he played Medal of Honor recipient Gary Gordon in Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down.

Alfie Allen a.k.a. Theon Greyjoy

Sure, we could talk about Alfie Allen's couple roles he did before Game Of Thrones, or we could talk about how his sister, singer Lily Allen, wrote a song about him called "Alfie". Let's just say it's less than flattering.

Rory McCann a.k.a. Sandor "The Hound" Clegane

Before he was the disfigured warrior known as the Hound, he was the mentally challenged and possibly slightly disfigured enforcer in the movie Hot Fuzz.

Aidan Gillen a.k.a. Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish

Before he was scheming and plotting as Lord Baelish on GoT, Aidan Gillen was known for a couple other roles.

From 2004-2008, Gillen played Tommy Carcetti on HBO's The Wire.

Prior to that, Gillen was famous for playing Stuart Alan Jones on Britain's Queer as Folk series.

Peter Dinkage a.k.a. Tyrion Lannister

Peter Dinklage had quite the career before joining the prolific series. We all remember him from Elf, where he played a very grumpy businessman.

He also had a guest spot in Entourage and even appeared in 30 Rock.

Maisie Williams a.k.a. Arya Stark

So what's in store for young Maisie? Some commercials maybe? A small short film set in her hometown of Bristol, England?

Actually, believe it or not, but Game Of Thrones was her professional acting debut!

Iain Glen a.k.a. Jorah Mormont

One of Daenerys's most loyal companions and advisors was first the big baddy in the Resident Evil series, Dr. Alexander Isaacs.

Before he was serving queens, he was squaring off with Milla Jovovich.

Liam Cunningham a.k.a. Davos Seaworth

Liam was in a whole bunch of movies before he joined GoT, stuff like Clash of the Titans, Dog Soldiers and A Little Princess. He even got to be in a movie called Breakfast on Pluto! Neat!

Emilia Clarke a.k.a. Daenerys Targaryen

This London-born actress was fairly new to the acting world when she was cast as Daenerys Targaryen.

Clarke had only made a few guest appearances on a couple TV shows including the BBC soap opera Doctors .

John Bradley West a.k.a. Samwell Tarly

Before he was everyone's favorite first season comic relief (except maybe Tyrion), Samwell was just a lowly cardinal on the historical TV drama Borgia.

Charles Dance a.k.a. Tywin Lannister

ITV | Rex Features

Charles Dance is a veteran in the game and has had plenty of roles before he was cast in GoT.

One role that Dance is more famously known for is when he played Guy Perron in The Jewel in the Crown.

Jerome Flynn a.k.a. Bronn

Before he was owed an entire castle, this rogue was actually a singer. He and his fellow actor Robson Green performed as Robson & Jerome.

They actually had some number one singles too. Huh, go figure.

Conleth Hill a.k.a Lord Varys

Conleth Hill's acting resume stretches years prior to his role as Lord Varys.

Before playing the well-connected eunuch, Hill made his acting debut in the 1996 Broadway hit Stones in His Pockets.

Hill also had a variety of roles on several different TV shows and stage plays.

Sophie Turner a.k.a. Sansa Stark

Like her sister before her, the young girl from Northampton, England also got her start on Game Of Thrones. Yeesh!

Where were all these super influential TV Series giving out roles when I was a kid?

Kristian Nairn a.k.a. Hodor

Would you believe us if we told you that Hodor is also a successful DJ?

Well you'd better believe it. Kristian Nairn was first a popular house DJ and has even performed alongside The Scissor Sisters.

In addition to a DJ and acting career, Nairn also voiced some characters on the video game World of Warcraft in 2004.

Viserion, Drogon and Rhaegal

Before Game Of Thrones, Viserion had a guest spot on The Drew Carey Show. For the other two, it was their first role on television.

Isaac Hempstead Wright a.k.a. Bran Stark

Unlike his two sisters, this young man was actually in a film before he got to be in GoT.

He played a young man named Tom Hill in 2011's The Awakening.

Phew, Game Of Thrones wasn't his first acting job! I was starting to think I was unlucky!

And so our journey into years gone by ends.

What did you think of the past work of the GoT cast? Were you surprised by any of it? Let us know!
