Recently, an old headline regarding Jessie J's sexuality has resurfaced. Twitter users are having a meltdown over it — criticizing Jessie's choice of words and accusing her of temporarily using bisexuality to her advantage.
Jessie J supposedly referred to her sexually experimental years as "a phase", and it's raising a few eyebrows.
"That's what I'm doing. I don't regret anything I ever said, but I never knew back then that whatever I said became a fact that I couldn't change," she continued.
When fans read the headline that they presumably missed in 2014, they were fuming.
"She can not only let her LGBT fans down, but also give bigoted media 'proof' that being gay is a choice. Well done," someone wrote.
"'Jessie J Denies Being Bisexual, Says It Was A Phase' So was her career," someone tweeted.
"I loved Jessie J when she was bisexual for 5 minutes," someone tweeted.
"Jessie J has 'grown up a LOT' and has decided she is no longer bisexual. Because that's childish," someone tweeted.
"You likely used it as a trend and are now tired cos it didn't get you the level of attention you wanted," they tweeted.
They also compared Jessie to Ariana Grande, as she has recently opened up about her fluid sexuality as well.
"Jessie J comes out as an opportunist ignorant who was just playing bisexual to seem more appealing to the LGBTQ community," one person wrote.
"So, Jessie J has decided she's straight now, not bisexual. Flippin' attention-seeker. Why even tell the media this?!," someone wrote.
"The same Jessie J who used lgbt people to further her career and then dropped us when we stopped being useful," someone tweeted.
"No wonder being bisexual is considered a joke," they wrote, adding "when Jessie J describes it as a 'phase'".
Even though this is probably the fakest looking headline the internet has ever seen, some people unfortunately still fell for it.
"Nothing wrong with being bisexual I said it was a phase because I'm actually gender fluid so sometimes I'm gay and sometimes I'm lesbian but no Bi," the photo read.
But it was later revealed that this image was also fake.
What do you think of Jessie's comment from 2014 about her sexuality being a phase? Is this something fans should be arguing about now, five years later?
