And you thought Khloé's cheating scandal was crazy.
Shortly after Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez (JLo and A-Rod, respectively) announced their engagement, allegations emerged that he was cheating on her.
All of this unfolded on Twitter, and it's a massive case of "he said, she said."
He popped the question on the beach. At sunset. Because he knew what he was doing, folks.
This is the second marriage for A-Rod. It's the third for JLo, and her fifth proposal. They've been dating since 2017.
JLo has incredibly expensive taste in diamonds. As Town & County notes, All five of her engagement rings have been square or emerald-cut.
What can I say? The lady likes a big diamond. I get it.
Rather than a press release, the couple opted to break the news on Instagram.
Both posted pictures of the proposal and the ring. Hers had the date of the engagement, while his simply says, "she said yes ♥️"
The literal day after they announced their engagement, ex-Yankees player, Jose Conseco, took to Twitter while watching World of Dance.
He alleged that the newly-engaged Alex had been having an affair with Canseco's ex-wife, Jessica.
First of all, if he is cheating, JLo deserves better. There. I've said it.
Second of all, the timing of this is so suspicious. He tweeted that the day after they got engaged.
And he decided to inform JLo via Twitter, of all things?
As the internet watched, Jose escalated the situation further and further.
So, at this point, we're all starting to smell some sort of publicity stunt, right? How did his publicist not call him immediately to stop this?
Ah, y'all smell that free self-promo?
Listen, if these allegations are true, shame on A-Rod. But I'm gonna call shame on Jose, too.
You can't use someone else's infidelity to further your own career. This is 2019, we don't let that stuff slide.
She tweeted about it two days later. It's clear she wasn't overly pleased with her ex-husband's accusations.
From her last sentence, it looks like the two aren't exactly on friendly terms, huh?
Alex was married to Cynthia Rodriguez for 6 years.
Shortly after the birth of their second child, she filed for divorce. The primary issue claimed for the divorce was "emotional abandonment."
Cynthia also claimed there were "extra marital affairs and other marital misconduct."
So, yeah. Maybe Jose decided to claim what he did because of Alex's past. For now, we just don't know.
It's been a month since that whole incident.
During that time, JLo has stayed silent. However, during an interview with The Breakfast Club, she finally decided to address the situation.
Host Charlamagne tha God asked JLo, "Jose Canseco said A-Rod was cheating on you."
JLo actually laughed out loud at that. That's, uh, a pretty good indication on how she feels, huh?
She then continued,
"Yeah. I mean, it doesn't matter. I know what the truth is."
She's clearly unbothered by the whole thing. Or she's had a month to practice sounding okay. But either way, it's not an issue for them.
"I know who he is. He knows who I am. We're just happy.
We're not gonna let, like, other people come out and tell us what our relationship is. I know what our relationship is. You know?"
The queen has spoken, and that's that on that.
Hopefully, they'll be able to get married with all of this behind them.
No date for their wedding has been set, but odds are that the wedding is going to be stunning.
