Kylie Jenner Fires Back At Haters Who Say She Isn't A 'Self-Made' Billionaire: 'None Of My Money's Inherited.'

In case you've been living under a rock, Kylie Jenner has recently been announced by Forbes as the youngest ever self-made billionaire, at the age of 21.

Do you know what I was doing at 21? Throwing my sofa cushions, looking for enough loose change to afford public transportation. So yeah, Kylie's doing pretty well, I'd say.

After Kylie announced back in July that she was closing in on becoming a billionaire, Forbes put her on the cover of their magazine, and crowned her the youngest self-made billionaire.

While being a billionaire at the age of 21 is extremely impressive, people were questioning the "self-made" part of her new title.

Whether or not Kylie is actually "self-made" has been a topic of internet debate ever since.

Forbes

Even Dictionary.com chimed in with the real definition of "self-made".

Things snowballed after that.

Forbes later revealed that Kylie was tied for fifth place on their yearly "richest celebrities" list, along with Jay-Z — who many people argued was actually self-made, and that putting Kylie Jenner on the same list as him, was plain disrespect.

In an interview with Paper Magazine, Kylie opened up and defended her title of being a self-made billionaire.

"I did have a platform but none of my money is inherited," she said, adding: "there’s really no other word to use other than self-made".

Kylie did however, acknowledge that she is a "special case."

And that she realizes she had the privilege of having a platform built for her by her family, but she maintains that she did not have any financial help from her parents when she started up her company.

"I did not get money from my parents past the age of 15," she said.

"I used 100% of my own money to start the company, not a dime in my bank account is inherited."

"I never thought that this could happen. I believed in Kylie Cosmetics but I didn’t even know what I was getting myself into," she added.

"It feels amazing, it’s wild, and being the youngest ever to do it is a blessing," she went on.

She went on to add that she believes that "self-made" is the category she deserves to fall under, and that she is very proud of herself.

Kylie definitely has every reason to be proud of herself. After all, she was still a billionaire at 21. That counts for something whether she was self-made or not.

She hopes that her makeup empire, and her "youngest self-made billionaire" label will be her legacy.

"I hope people will remember that I pushed boundaries, inspired them, worked incredibly hard, set trends, and made history with my business – all at a young age."

Kylie also shared that she hopes to cultivate inspiration in other young women to push the envelope, work hard, and pursue their dreams.

"I hope to inspire other young women to know that there are no limits and to work hard for what you believe in," she said.

This person pointed out that the entire Kardashian-Jenner family wouldn't have any success if it weren't for Kim Kardashian's sex tape.

Kim certainly got the ball rolling for the family. But even before that, they had a reality TV show.

This person wants to make one thing perfectly clear: Kylie is definitely not a self-made billionaire.

This person really left no wiggle room in their opinion. They are firmly against the idea that Kylie is self-made.

This person praised Kylie for being a great business woman, and for being a billionaire.

But they still don't believe that she has the right to be considered self-made.

This person pointed out that even though Kylie claims her parents stopped funding her after the age of 15, that Kylie wasn't working a typical part-time job like most other 15 year olds.

The person went on to explain that the money she raised to start her company was not raised by her and her alone.

So, the subject of whether or not Kylie Jenner is actually a self-made billionaire is still something that is up for debate.

She seems to believe that it's what she deserves.

Do you think that Kylie is a self-made billionaire? Would she have gotten this far without the already established family fame?
