Demi Lovato Shared A Powerful Message On The Day She Would Have Been 7 Years Sober

Demi Lovato has been through a lot in her young life, and she's not afraid to share even the darkest moments with her fans. It's one of the many reasons why love her so much.

The ups and downs of her life and have been consistently published for everyone to see.

There was a time when she revealed to her fans that she was clean and sober.

That is, until she relased the song "Sober", which detailed to fans that she was no longer sober.

"Momma, I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore

And daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor

To the ones who never left me

We've been down this road before

I'm so sorry, I'm not sober anymore," the lyrics read.

The devastating news came just less than a year ago that Demi had overdosed, and was rushed to hospital.

We knew limited information at the time, but we did know that it was very serious, and fans worried about her safety.

Fortunately, she pulled through.

She went back to rehab to recover, and just recently celebrated six months of sobriety.

The other day, she shared with fans that she would have been seven years sober, had she not relapsed.

She wrote that she needed to make those mistakes, but recognized that that's exactly what they were: mistakes.

She added that she was grateful for Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.

She's remaining optimistic as she explained, "I didn't lose 6 years, I'll always have that experience but now I just get to add to that time with a new journey and time count."

She finished by reminding fans that it's possible to recover, even after relapsing.

Her words no doubt would have a huge impact on her fans who are struggling with their own addictions.
