Luke Perry's Daughter Slams Trolls On Instagram For Grief-Shaming Her

It's been just over a week since we learned about the passing of 90210 star, Luke Perry, and the tributes are still pouring in.

While most of it has been love and support, Luke's daughter Sophie, is fed up with some of the haters.

On March 4th, we learned that Luke Perry had died at just 52-years-old.

He had suffered a stroke just days earlier.

He was also engaged to Wendy Madison Bauer — they had been together for more than 11 years.

After Luke's death, his daughter shared a touching post about her father on Instagram.

She wrote about being able to make it back from Malawi just in time to be with her family, and thanked everyone for their support.

The following post was a tribute to her mother, who she says is also her best friend.

"You all know my dad is a super star, but I just want to share for a moment that I got really [expletive] lucky in the parental department because this is my mom," she wrote.

"She is the rock for everybody grieving in this family right now. She’s the toughest and sweetest and most amazing woman I or anyone else has ever met. How did I get so lucky to have two icons for parents?" she added.

Unfortunately, Sophie has apparently been dealing with trolls online who don't like the way that she's grieving her father's death.

She took to Instagram to make yet another post about how she's handling his death.

"Since my dad died I have received a lot of attention online," she wrote.

"And most of it has been positive but of course, some people just can’t be nice. And I’m here to say that I did not ask for this attention, I did not ask to be thrown into some virtual spotlight, and while I don’t mean to offend anybody, I’m also not going to cater to any one else’s needs and beliefs," she continued.

"I’m 18. I swear like a sailor and sometimes I dress like a hooker," she went on.

"And I support causes and you may not. And most importantly. I am going to laugh and smile and live my normal life. YES I am hurt and sad and crying and beside myself with what happened to my dad. It’s the worst thing to ever happen in my life. And I am torn the [expletive] up over it. But I’m not going to sit in my room and cry day in and day out until the internet has deemed it appropriate for me to do otherwise. And if you knew my dad you would know he wouldnt want me to. So you shouldn’t either."

She finished by saying that anyone who shames her for her language, wardrobe or her grieving process should go ahead and unfollow her.

It's hard to believe that anyone would shame a young girl for the way that she grieves, but we're happy to see her sticking up for herself.
