Octomom Natalie Suleman Says She Was, 'Irresponsible And Selfish' In New Interview

If you can believe it, it's been 10 years since Natalie Suleman gave birth to her octuplets and was quickly dubbed 'Octomom'.

After becoming the focus of a ton of negative media attention and even receiving death threats, Natalie stepped out of the spotlight to focus on her family.

And that decision seems to be the right one for her and her family.

Natalie's octuplets became the second complete set born in the United States and they surpassed the survival rate set by an other set of octuplets born in 1998.

The birth of Natalie's children set off a media frenzy.

She appeared on The Today Show one week after giving birth to the octuplets, which she conceived through IVF treatment.

However, it was soon discovered that Natalie had six other children (also conceived through IVF), and that she was living unemployed with her mother.

She continued to make public appearances on television with her children.

The birth of the octuplets even lead to the doctor who performed the IVF treatments on Natalie losing his medical license.

At the height of the criticism and struggling to support her family, Natalie turned to the porn industry.

"The porn industry was the only industry that would accept me," she said in a new interview with Australia's Sunday Night.

"I think I was young, dumb, irresponsible, selfish [and] reckless," she said of her work in the porn industry.

After her brief stint in the adult film world, Natalie says that she, "killed Octomom," and retreated from the public eye to focus on her kids.

Sunday Night reporter Angela Cox caught up with the family in their three-bedroom California townhome.

Even though their house is chaotic with 14 kids (as one would expect), "Sunday Night" discovered that the children are happy and healthy.

We couldn't be more thrilled to hear it!

Natalie revealed that she still uses food stamps to buy organic, vegan food for her children.

Even though her children have to share beds and line up to use the bathroom, Sunday Night observed that the children are, "Eloquent, well-behaved, considerate and polite. They seem happy and healthy."

It would seem that Natalie has changed and is committed to giving her children the best life possible.

She's recovered from hitting rock bottom and is doing her best to raise her children.

And at the end of the day, as long as her kids are happy — we should be happy, too!

"You've gotta go what you've gotta do to provide for your family," she said.
