Ryan Reynolds Shares 'Creepy' Newspaper Photo Of Him When He Was 3

Ryan Reynolds is internationally known today. But it wasn't long ago that he was just a kid growing up in Canada. The Deadpool star recently shared a glimpse of his past — and honestly, it's more than a little bit creepy.

Lots of people get into the newspaper.

Yeah, you'll obviously get in the papers if you do something wrong. But it's also a pretty common experience to have your pic shared in the paper just to help fill out the local news.

Ryan Reynolds was once in the paper.

Of course, he's in The Hollywood Reporter and similar publications all the time. But his media debut came years earlier, long before anybody knew who he was.

Reynolds is a proud Vancouverite.

You probably know he's from the west coast Canadian city from his Instagram handle, @vancityreynolds. Eagle-eyed viewers will probably notice that much of the filming of Deadpool took place in Vancouver as well.

Vancouver is where it all started for Ryan Reynolds.

From birth through high school and college, Reynolds lived here. The city has a thriving film industry, which is where he originally got his start at the age of fifteen.

Here's the pic.

Just a normal pic from a community paper, right? Well, read the caption from the original pic — and read Reynold's hilarious comments on just how weird it is that the paper would give away his address.

Why would this even be a thing?

Like, you could just refer to him as a kid who lives in Vancouver. Why on earth would anyone think giving thousands of readers the kid's home address would be a good idea?

Let's dig a little deeper.

Thanks to Google, we can be creepy and stalkerish without even leaving our seat. So we know that Ryan was at the pool at Kitsilano Community Centre. Kitsilano is a community just across the water from downtown Vancouver.

Here's the pool in question.

The weird thing to me is that I can't see any evidence of a plaque commemorating the fact that young Ryan Reynolds once swam in the wading pool (and subsequently had his home address leaked).

Well, they did give us his address.

...and we're doing this for research, so it's not creepy, okay?! The house Ryan Reynolds grew up in can be seen in full, blocky 3D glory on Google Maps.

Here's the street view.

Considering Reynolds grew up here in the 70s and 80s, it looks like the lot has been significantly renovated since then. There's virtually no backyard, which might explain why he spent so much time at the pool.

It looks like a nice place to grow up.

It would be a bit of a walk from the pool, but Reynolds grew up on an attractive corner lot, close to parks and schools and removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

It must be a weird experience.

Famous actors are used to dealing with stalkers and people invading their privacy. But Ryan Reynolds kind of experienced this years before anyone had ever heard of him.

Have you ever been in the paper?

If so, I'm guessing they didn't casually give away your home address! Be sure to share your thoughts and stories in the comments section, and check out Ryan Reynolds on Instagram.
