18+ Zodiac Tattoos That Are Anything But Tacky

Getting a zodiac tattoo is a major cliché, but we still do it anyway.

For those of you who believe in astrology, you know that your sign is something that defines a small part of who you are. So honoring that with a tattoo is totally understandable.

Finding a creative way to do something that's so overdone already, is very tricky. But these people nailed it!

Aquarius.

The entire concept of this tattoo is amazing. It's simple, not overwhelming, captures the essence of an Aquarius, and is the kind of tattoo that this person could add onto if they wanted to expand it into a sleeve.

Normally I'd be opposed to getting a tattoo of just the name of your sign. That seems boring.

But this one is strangely cute. Breaking the word up like that changes everything.

Something so simple can make such an impact.

Pisces.

Pisces are a creative, emotion-driven water sign, represented by a symbol of a pair of fish swimming in a cycle.

This person took that concept and really brought it to life. It's very Pisces-esque to add a touch of color onto what would have been a black and white tattoo.

This person took what would have been a cliché, boring, overdone tattoo and made it her own.

Adding flowers on top of the symbol saved this tattoo from not making this list!

Aries.

Aries isn't exactly a calm sign. They're a feisty bunch! But it's refreshing to see an Aries tattoo that portrays the softer side of an Aries instead.

This seems like more of an Aries' speed. Something bigger, bolder, and louder.

Aries are the furthest thing from shy or modest. So, getting more of a statement tattoo is definitely more up their alley, and this person did that beautifully.

Taurus.

Flowers always take things to the next level. This tattoo could have just been a small outline of a bull's head, which wouldn't have been nearly as cute. Adding the flowers made all the difference. Overall, this tat accurately captures Taurus' earth-element instincts, and looks great doing it.

This one is a lot more detailed, and less girly in obvious ways— like using flowers.

Instead of using decorative flowers to make this tattoo pop, this person used detail — something that doesn't get used enough in the realm of zodiac tattoos.

But in this case, it really shows off what it means to be a Taurus. Hard-headed, down-to-earth, and hard-working.

Gemini.

This one is an amazing way of portraying that two personalities in Gemini, in a cute, creative way.

If you're a Gemini, there's probably a good chance you can relate to this tattoo on a deeper level. There's the devilish side to your personality, and an angelic one, and they're probably both drinking champagne.

This one also captures the two sides of a Gemini, but in a more classy, artistic sort of way.

What's even more amazing about this tattoo, is if you look closely, the two heads are internally connected — which is something very important to note about a Gemini. Sure, there are two sides to their personality, but ultimately it comes from one place.

Cancer.

Tiny tattoos have a special place in my heart — they're just so cute!

I'm obsessing over the tiny Saturn and crescent moon on either side of the constellation. Not only because it's accurate to the sign, but because they're adorable AF.

It isn't easy to tattoo a crab on your body in a non-tacky way. So, kudos to this person for doing it so tastefully.

Similarly to Pisces, Cancers are also an emotion-driven water sign, represented by two symbols mirroring each other, or a crab.

This tattoo uses both of Cancer's symbols in one piece.

Leo.

I know that all of these signs are just as likely to get a tattoo of their own zodiac sign on their bodies. But it's just such a Leo thing to do.

Leos can be very proud, confident, complacent people. They're bold, and opinionated. This tattoo is gorgeous, and definitely lets the lion's roar be heard.

This one, on the other hand, is a lot more modest. Something that most Leos typically aren't.

Obviously it isn't impossible for Leos to have simpler, quieter taste. But it does go against their nature.

This tattoo is so adorable, I don't even know where to begin. I love tattoos that prove that less can be more.

Virgo.

Virgo is an earth sign, that really appreciates the simpler, more organic things in life. So it isn't surprising to me that a Virgo would get a tattoo that captures their nature-loving side.

For Virgos, simpler is better.

Virgos have very complex, busy minds that constantly crave perfection. So getting a simple tattoo that will always be timeless, is definitely a wise choice.

Libra.

Libras are represented by the symbol of a scale, as they are meant to be balanced people.

Libras are also very charming, beautiful people, and I'd say this tattoo accurately represents those qualities.

Instead of portraying the traditional weight scale, this person creatively modernized it, and included the hand holding it — a very nice touch.

It's also a great conversation piece, and Libras are a very social people, so it works in their favor.

Scorpio.

Since getting a giant scorpion tattooed on your body forever isn't everybody's cup of tea, this person went with something a bit more tame, and cute.

It's utterly impossible to make a scorpion look cute or appealing. So Scorpios usually opt for a tattoo that represents their sign, or the symbol.

But this person somehow found a way to put a scorpion on their skin, in an adorable, miniature way.

Love this!

Sagittarius.

Sagittarius' are the hunters of the zodiac. They have a natural instinct to live for the chase, and always shoot for better things.

So, including the bow and arrow in this tattoo, along with the constellation, really lets those characteristics shine through.

In keeping with the bow and arrow, this person added flowers — which as I mentioned earlier, can make all the difference in a small tattoo like this one.

Arrow tattoos can easily be tacky, and cliché. But this person steered clear of those two things!

Capricorn.

This tattoo is gorgeous, and I'm really living for its placement on the ribs. It allowed a lot more space for small details in the horns, and fur.

Capricorn is Latin for "horned goat", and traditionally in the zodiac, is represented by a half-fishtail, half-goat head.

It's probably one of the most curious visuals out of all the zodiac signs.

But this person really put their own, feminine spin on it— swapping out the fish tail for the lower half of a woman's body.
